Hi .. some details... 2nd marriage for me, 1st for him. I have a child from previous marriage (a girl, aged 11). We currently live in the west and he wants us to move east to be closer to his family as he is very homesick. My ex-husband would like my daughter to stay here until she's finished high school to have the benefit of both parents while growing up in her formative years. I agree...my husband does not. My choices are to stay here till she's finished school or to go without her and she can come for summer holidays to the east. I said to my husband that I cannot walk out on her. He is desparate to go because of his homesickness, but says he can't commit to staying here another 7 years. He says I'm not even trying to compromise....my compromise is that we go when she's done school here..he says that's not enough. We're at the point of going our separate ways which is sad because we still really love each other but have been unable to come to an arrangement that is going to work for both of us. I have to add that he has an amazing job here and the job prospects in the east aren't as good. I also have a great career, we have a beautiful home and live a good life. He just needs his family to be more a part of our ife than at vacation times, a couple of times a year. Any suggestions would be helpful.
