Just wanted to let you know I just purchased a few tiles from the Banana Patch Studio over in Kaua'i.. Dunno if you know it.. I just fell in love with their "A dog wags its tail with its heart" and the "Meow is like Aloha, it has many meanings" tiles. And I had a hard time restraining myself from buying a complete set of their pottery but as it is hand-made it's just a tad too expensive for me right now!

I miss the Hawaiian isles so.. I'll come back in 2007 if I can! Aloha to you my dear.

Aloha BH,

Wait, I think I have been to their studio. Isn't it in Waimea? There is an MBer out that way. Beautiful girl we met 2 summers ago. She and another MBer out here on Oahu helped me a lot. That was when the OW was pulling her 'let me be a victim' charade and I was on the verge of going ballistic. LOL!!!

If it is the studio I visited, I liked their tiles also. I want to go back to Kauai for another vacation. We stayed in a renovated plantation home just like my mom grew up in a cute 2 bedroom cottage with a beautiful tropical back yard fully equipped with BBQ and outdoor shower (for those return from the beach days. We paid only $85.00 a night. It was in a residential area and not touristy but we had roosters crowing and was sernaded by hawaiian music from the pavillon a couple of blocks away along with the ocean waves. It was fun.

Where r u at?

L.

Hi Orchid,

nope, it's not in Waimea, it's in Hanapepe, the "biggest little town". They have a second place at the Kilauea (lighthouse).

I'm living in rainy ol'e Belgium, that's at least 16 flight hours (going over Houston, that is) from your sunny isles. Although it's going to be a hot & sunny day here today - so I got my Hawaiian shirt out (full of bright colors ) for my birthday party!

I had a friend that lived on Kaua'i (Kapa'a) - she moved to California this year. I'm not surprised you had roosters there, there are wild chickens all over Kaua'i!

Orchid: Oh...well I've only been to Kauai twice, once when I was 4 and once at well.... 2 years ago. I didnt' get to go to all the shops in the island. Maybe next time. If I could afford it I'd like to rent one of those houses right on the beach with a telescope t/d star gazing at night.

Orchid: Wow, you are a long way from this dot in the Pacific. No matter where you go, when you don one of those 'aloha shirts', everybody knows where you've been. LOL!!!

Orchid: As for those wild chickens, the island is full of them even on the beaches and golf courses. H golfed at a public golf course up on a hill where the owner breeds these hybrid type of bandi chickens. They looked like hugh cottom balls running around on the golf course. They were cute and made golfing a challenge. LOL!!! For less than $25.00 H had clubs and a cart. While he golfed, we shopped. My son enjoyed chasing those chickens around the yard. LOL!!!

If we are still here when you come over, look us up.

Aloha,
L.

No plans as of yet. Living here isn't paradise, that's for sure. Cost of living and low paying jobs are a big drain.

But my parents and lots of relatives are here. Most of my aunts and uncles are in their 60 - 80's and a couple don't have children. So I want t/b closer to help out.

My family wants to move back to CA. They are being quite understanding since they know our primary objective for being here.

For now we are getting by. H is on assignment with Fema so there w/b some income coming in (I hope).

When was the last time you were here?

low paying jobs

SH charged $185 per hour. A newly qualified but trained MB MC could expect $100per hour with 20 engagements per week.

Ok, fifty an hour. Still more than a grand a week and you work from your deck saving marriages and lives.

[censored], I'd do it myself if I was as good as this as you are !

Why not consider a career change, Orchid ? (seriously!)

I visited your beautiful isles last in Feb 2004 (Kaua'i, Maui, Hawai'i - Oahu just passing through this time) with my mum ! I hope to come back next Feb 2006, budget permitting... I love going whale watching, that's why I always come in the whale season.

Orchid

Joking aside I think you have every attribute to make a great MC and I think you will REVEL in the aditional education and resources you will be able to refine yoru instinct with.

Re our trip to Hawaii, Squids nievce wants to get married and wanted to wed in hawaii.

I had to play the baddie and get her some prices for the flights, accommodation & ceremony

They are not wealthy.

They have arranged to marry in the UK on December 28th now, which means WE can't go on our usual Christmas vacation now

For the record they have such a strange history I either think they will not get married, OR their marriage won't work.

Neice got pregnant by the love of her life aged 17. He slept around and she couldn;t take it after a year. It was a nasty breakup.

Neice moved her new boyfriends in VERY soon after dating over teh next year or two - she values domestic support and financial stability very highly.

Her current beau was her boss at the gym she worked at.

He basically stalked her - phoning her at home at 2 in the morning to see eho whe was with , inquisitions on Monday mornings as to what she got up to all weekend etc.

And they weren't even dating then !!!!!

Amazingly neice dealt with this by ...dating him !

Soon they moved in together. He is obsessively jealous of her, and won't let her go out with friends not wear clothes that show off her figure.

his obsessively jealous MOM won;t talk to him or neice because her son from he rfirst relationship is mixed race. amd she says it makes niece a slut.

And neiece meekly tolerates ALL this !!!!!!

And they're getting married at Christmas.

* sigh *

Like watching a train crash.

I bet we'll go an a lastminute vacation after all.
