I am looking for songs to download to take on a trip. I'd like suggestions of empowering, 'take that you loser' songs.
I already have: 'My Give a Damn's Busted,' 'I Will Survive,' and 'Independence Day.'
I like all kinds of music (country, pop, rock, blues, whatever), so any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!!

'Eye of the Tiger' by Survivor
'That Don't Impress Me Much' by Shania
'Black Cat' by Janet Jackson
'Free Your Mind' by En Vogue (there are a few more on that CD worth taking a listen to as well)
'March to the Scaffold' by Berlioz - all instrumental, but imagine Bam Bam being marched down the streets of France to his death at the gallows for his continued choices, and his last thought is of the sweetheart he betrayed... yes, the classical composers do have a sense of real life, mixed with humor...
'Cold Hearted Snake' by Paula Abdul
'Brick House' by Commodors
'You Could Have Been With Me' by Sheena Easton
and some great instrumental music for driving down the road "toward" your future, Fresh Aire I and Fresh Aire II are great, as is anything by Kurt Bestor - Seasons or Innovators CDs are favorites.

Oh, Mel, we DO have high-fidelity systems over here, you know? (Just not necessarily with our spouses...)

Hi Pebbles,
I've never posted to you before (in fact, never post much at all) but i have followed your story faithfully and just wanted you to know i'm in your corner rooting for you and the restoration of your marriage. I see hope for your marriage but most of all I see what a wonderful, admirable, unselfish, patient woman you are and your husband would be crazy to let you slip away. You're just so lovable/adorable! So anyways back to your request, These may or may not be your type of music but I was born in the late late 70's so the music I listen to is really what the young crowd listens to today and it's really just "Whatever, I don't need you loser" type of music, If you try my selections out, I think You might really enjoy them
Here are a few of my favorites:
"Fighter" by Christina Aguilera (one of my favorites) "Call Tyrone" by Erykah Badu (one of my favorites_ "Miss Independent" by Destiny's Child "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morisette (one of my favs) "There You Go" by Pink (really really one of my favs) "Strong Enough" by Cher "Stronger" by Britney Spears
Me-29, Husband-28
We have one son together - 10 mo. old
He has 3 children from a previous marriage, ages 11, 9, 6 yrs old.
3nd DDay 11/10/05- another Email A. H denied it being EA or PA..just sexual in nature with an ex fling.
My 3rd marriage, His 2nd

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone! I have burned a CD of 'take that, you loser' songs to listen to on my 3-hour drive tomorrow. A few I will have to listen to with headphones - I don't want my kids to end up singing along to "Son of a B*&%#."

Eeeeesh. They don't have to be gender-specific, right? Here are a few ideas for older, rootsier stuff.
Led Zeppelin - Your Time is Gonna Come Anything by Patsy Cline Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone
Actually Patsy's stuff tends to be more anguished, so maybe not so much...
