Hi all. There is good news on the topic of my niece, who left her husband and kids a while back for a guy she met on the internet. He bamboozled her with a lot of spiritual hooey (her husband is a pastor, mind you, so OM was really twisting her mind) and apparently OM also plied her with drugs or herbs from China that were supposed to help her depression.

Well, my niece has been back home for several weeks and they haven't signed the divorce papers yet. Hallelujah. Little things kept happening that prevented them signing (does anyone see God at work in this?). They've been living in the house together and went out on a date last Friday that was pretty amazing. They seem to be reconnecting.

But today my sister called me and said niece is being admitted to a psychiatric hospital (she asked to go and she is voluntarily admitting herself). This is what we have been praying for! I know that sounds wierd, but I believe my niece is bi-polar (runs in our family) and her mental heath issues have been a catalyst to the affair.

Please pray for my niece that she gets the appropriate diagnosis and care while she is hosptialized.

Just a side note: My niece had decided to try to make her marriage work and preserve her family when The OM (her "soulmate" remember) started showing his true (crazy) colors. He called her one day and said, "where have you been?" She replied, truthfully, "I just got home from work." And he says, and I kid you not, "Don't lie to me. You can't lie to me. I know you are lying because the "spirit" told me you were out partying!" <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

I think those Chinese drugs are doing a number on this dude. And I have a pretty good suspicion that the "spirit" he's talking to isn't a heavenly one.

Anyway, please do say some prayer for my beloved niece. Her name is Mary and she is a sweetheart.

Wouldn't exactly call myself a Prayer Warrior, precisely...more like a Prayer Crawler/Hobbler, but I'll refer Neak and Neaksis to this thread and we will certainly include Mary in our prayers. God bless.

Ya know Snow, while I ofocurse have only the best hopes for your niece, I can't help but think and identify with the crushed Husband still lying awake among his life's ruins. This is a sad case any way you slice it. I feel for your niece and hubby. This is going to be a life long struggle for them and her.

Sad, but thankfully she has found some help. It is a start.

Mental Health illnesses are so scary and crippling.

God bless.

Hi, Snowbelle.

That is really good news that she is getting some proper treatment. With the right medication and some time, there is a good possibility that she will fully realize what she has done, and turn away from it.

The simple act of facing her problem can work greatly in her favor. The world makes a lot more sense if you find out one day that the world really isn't that color at all, you had just been looking through some bad filters.

God bless,
Gimble

Snow-

Glad to hear that things may be working out for them...they've been on my mind lately, but I've not posted as I know that you'd hoped she would come here at some point. I will keep them in prayer!

LM-
I too can feel for her H. My situation almost turned out a lot like this...my wife met someone on the internet, and when I confronted them was all set to fly away and live with him...even tho they had never met in person at all! In fact, they'd each only had a picture or two of the other.

He's going to be hurting for a while, but the situation isn't hopeless. My family is recovering well from what we went through...I'm still dealing with some of the issues, but it's much better now than it was a year ago!

Thanks, friends! Well my niece has been hospitalized and is being evaluated. And I am so relieved.

LM, I, too, am crushed for her husband. He has been a rock through most of this, patient and loving. He initiated the divorce to protect the kids. He has done a great Plan A by instinct (or as I am inclined to believe, through the grace of God). I am very hopeful for their marriage.

Having BP (is that is what she is diagnosed with) is not a death sentence as you know. My sister's life turned upside down when it hit her at about the same age as my niece is now. My sister went through absolute hell, and we along with her, while she attempted suicide several times, disappeared once for 10 days and various other crazy stuff. Her husband and kids were tested to the limit.

But once she got on the right medications and at the right dosages, she is doing great and so is her family. She returned to work and she's stable for going on three years now. This is why I am happy for my niece and my nephew. I see this as a possible turning point where she gets the right help and can put the pieces together. Her husband is more than willing to help her to heal as well as heal their marriage. It's looking up even though there is a long, long way to go.

Thanks, too, Owl and Gimble. I like the "bad filters" analogy. It is so apt, Gimble. BiPolar people really have to work hard to see the world as it is, not what they think they are seeing.

I don't know if niece and NIL will ever post here, but I really wanted extra prayer for Mary right now. Please keep up the prayers!
