I haven't been 'down' in a while. And what's worse....I'm not certain why I am. It could be just a regular swing of the pendulum. Or maybe a bad week of the month . Or it could be that I'm upset about a poster I brought here, and it didn't work out as planned.
But for whatever reason, I just woke up feeling bummed and lonely (which is one I haven't felt in a while) this morning. It's almost like I am missing intimacy with someone special....and I don't necessarily mean SF. I have intimacy with many of my friends....but I'm missing that 'something more' today.
I've been doing so well, and feeling very happy - very secure and content with being single. So is today a sign that I'm on a downslope? Or are these types of days just 'par for course'?

I think it's just part of the natural grieving process that follows a big change in your life. It'll go away a lot faster if you allow it to happen without assigning it any particular significance.

Quickly count five blessing you have in your life. A positive view is in order.

Moneownself - Thanks for the advice. I agree that I've just got to let it be. And I'm sure it will pass. As I've gotten farther along the grieving process, times like this have gotten fewer and further between. It just surprised me this morning.....
Newly - I am counting as we speak! I actually am very lucky, and have many blessings in life. And I don't discount that at all. In fact, I still feel very positive about life and my situation in general. I am truly blessed. Just feel like a small part of me is missing today....almost like my spirit has taken a quick vacation!
Thanks you guys!

Hey, our spirit's allowed to take a vacation, as long as we get it back soon. There are times we all want to get off the rat race, and just give into the blahs. That's OK. Just relax and let it pass.

We're here for ya. ((((L.I.T.)))) I have "days" too. It's important to remember that they pass, and the good ones will come again. We're here if ya wanna talk some more.

Thanks so much, you guys. Sometimes it helps just to know you can come somewhere and vent....even if you don't know what you are venting about!
I am thinking perhaps that I'm overextending myself, and getting very tired. I have been running around (between trying to see friends, group counseling, IC, taking people to the airport, dinner plans, etc) for most of the past 2 weeks. I spent last Thursday at the house (and was so tired, I didn't even clean), and tried to spend Tues night at the house, but had IC until 7pm.....and then had to go to bed early, b/c I was falling asleep at work. I am also trying to help a new member end her A and maintain NC. I didn't realize how difficult (and emotionally straining) it is to go back and remember everything from 2 years ago.
I think I'm just worn out. Hopefully things will slow down a bit, and I can get back on track. I plan to take some time for myself this weekend (although I'm on call, so it may be nothin' doin' there!) - and have a little R&R. Rent a movie...take a bubble bath...cuddle up in a blanket on the couch
That sounds better by the minute!
Thank you guys again!

Hi LIT,
When I have down days, I tell myself that it's temporary, and I say to myself "each time I feel down is a *step* towards feeling even better when I recover from it".
View it as a recovery ladder - each step is progress.
Love, Jo

This is so, so normal. LIT, may I suggest that you re-read this post and your last one from today and consider them both for any relationship in regard to what you are feeling?
