LOL Mel ! I wonder if 'yankedom' is like the Scots are.. Basically the further north in Scotland you were born makes you more Scottish ! The Borders Scots refer to English as 'Sassenachs'. Then the highlanders refer to Borders as Sassenachs. And so it goes on the John O'Groats ! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Ark had some medical challenges that seemed to be having a good outcome. She's not been around for a while and I was pinging just to make sure she knows we think about her.

Hey Bob, I was thinking about you yesterday. I was listening to this radio show where they were laughing at the BBC because they won't use politically incorrect words like "terrorists." [this is a huge point of amusement in the US] The host commented that the terrorists who bombed y'all were "true blue British" and even spelled color "colour!!!!" heehee Spelling color with that superfluous "u" was the proof in the pudding for her! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I have to laugh whenever I see your Call out to other UKers et all...and refrain from typing my disbelief that Ms. Melody even lets it known that there are other places besides that lone star state....but I do digress...
was away for a week over the fourth and it seems you miss so much in a week...and I have been trying to catch up and jump in....
hope all are well...read your post about squids true sharing of her regret...and it felt good ....

no cancerJust about the two best words I know of Ark. My family has been decmated by cancer. Squid and my DD12 ran a charity 5k race today for a breast cancer charity. They had to write who they were running for on sheet spinned to their backs. Squid ran " For IVY XX " ( My mom who seccumbed to cancer in '99). Kate ran for 'Nanny XX' also my Mom. The sheet was reversable. One side said " running in celebration of..." and the other " running in memory of...". There were more "memories" than "celebrations" <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> . I'll make sure the next one in September that somebody has a "celebrating ARK" tag on. Great about Squid. Truly. I'm struggling a bit being the 'fannyversary' and all this month but I fought too dam' hard to quit now <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Glad your OK darl'. {{{ark}}}
