[color:"blue"] In the news yesterday and today, there were numerous spots about Lance Armstrong's 7th win of the Tour de France. Most photo shots showed him with his 3 children and GF Sheryl Crow (she was holding his children quite often). I wonder how many thought of his ex-wife, who supported him through cancer, chemo, 3 children, tons of training, and many of those wins? How difficult was it for her to watch all this on the national news? At least most of us here don't have it exacerbated by being shown on television... [/color]

This is some of the misconception about their marriage.
He was pretty much through the cancer treatment when they met. She divorced him after realizing that she came 2nd to his training. And he and Sheryl Crow met after that.
In reading about her background, I get the feeling she forgot that she was a strong powerful woman in her own right and got lost in Lance. Sheryl didn't do that.
Lance and his X are supposedly on very good terms in regard to their children.

The statement that signaled my personal recovery and the turning point in our marriage recovery: "I don't need to be married that badly!" If you're interested in saving your relationship, you'll work on it when it's convenient. If you're committed, you'll accept no excuses.

I've wondered about his ex. & how the marriage broke down & how it feels to have the public in on her ex's new relationship.
I'll have to admit in my mind I've made him out to be the bad guy, but, of course, I don't know what happened. Maybe she was sick of his devotion to his sport with less to give to his family. Or, maybe he was devoted.
I guess I just wonder.

There was an affair on Lance's part - just not with Sheryl Crow - they seperated for a while and got back together but it didn't last.

She did nto support him through the cancer or the chemo. He did not meet his (now ex) wife, three weeks after he had completed his cancer/chemo treatments.
He did not meet Sheryl Crow until October 2003. The mutually agreed upon divorce (probably because he was never home) was filed in Sept 2003.
They were married for less than 5 years.

Thanks for the update/correction. If I had done more online research I would have known that on my own, LOL. Obviously every situation is unique. It does sound like the divorce was equally agreed upon, and they try to put the kids first too.
