OW is going to be uber pissed! I cut mija's hair.

She's got a pixie face so short hair looks adorible on her. It's like a little dorothy hammel haircut.

Hey! It'll make bug combing easier, right?

I never had to take the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?

Kimmy, Have you checked their eyebrows for the critters?
They also will move down into their eyebrows and eyelashes.
If that happens Vaseline works to kill them and you remove them. Good luck with CPS and getting custody.
Sounds like these kids really need you.

Oh dear Lord. Eyebrows? These buggers are huge....even the nits are big (according to the lit I've read, they feed every 3 hours on my poor kids). Even as thick as mija's eyelashes are, I'd think I'd see them. My babies look me in the eye when they "talk" to me, and I'm always "chatting" with them up close and sincerely (mija today told me she didn't want to live with "nessa", that she wants me and daddy...I told her very sincerely that "nessa" is sad that she doesn't call her mommy...but that's another story).

Wookie asked CPS lady to come to our house before we take them back to check them over to SEE that we get rid of the bugs b4 they go home. Then, next visit, we'll do the taping again.

Argh.

Lemonman, I've been thinking more and more about your personal ARGH regarding "what the heck are my tax dollars doing?" Dear sir, you know, you don't have the cornerstone on this question, right? That you are in a higher tax bracket makes the question no matter. I, too, carry much angst that I SLAVE at my job (and am going to get another JUST to get one car paid off so I can be a SAHM without straining our home budget). Your tax dollars are going to pay for medicaid, foodstamps, and housing for this person that after 6 kids doesn't understand how birth control works. BUT: she is USING the system. She has not told the govt. about the extra income coming in from the boyfriend - they didn't know he was living there. Hopefully, that will end soon. And hopefully, because of me, there will be two less products of this broken system. I pray my babies know their self worth, and realize they are WORTH WORKING FOR.

TG - I love them so much that I've begun needing them, too. When you hold an infant in your arms and KNOW they won't survive to a life worth living without you, you do everything you possibly can for them - feeble as it is.

Squid uses a tea tree oil formula to kill the buges and keep them off. Puts it on and leaves it after washing then cobs teh bodies & eggs out before bed.

My son gets them every couple of months from school. it only takes one kid wih nits for them to go everywhere. grr.

Yeah Bob. They are gone from here. I went through everyone's hair last night...nada. The kids go back Sunday. When we have visits Wed., I'll bet my left big toe against $1M that mija will be infested again.

I live very near you, and I'm a teacher. We have had CPS come out to our school to discuss what is a valid complaint, and what is not. At that time (about 2 years ago) they informed us chronic lice IS NOT a valid complaint, as horrible as that sounds!

I use a shampoo that I've put tea tree and neem oil in, it is supposed to repel the buggers. We had a problem with the critters this summer...they seemed to get passed around the grandkids...passing them along before they had a clue, then it was too late...oh well. I still like the medicine shampoo and wouldn't replace it, but I used the homemade shampoo just as a preventative. You can also put the oil straight on around the roots and send them home...then should help them get the pests for a short while....ugh, now my head is itching...
