I have been married 3 years now with my wife whom I love. The problem that we are running into is something that has been brewing over the last few months.

I have what most people would probably buy into as ADD. When I get involved in something weather it be a game, book, or tv show most everything tunes out. It is something I really perfected in a previous job in which I had to concentrate on what was being said and not the background noise.

This means that when my wife is trying to get my attetion, it usually takes several times and she takes it personally as if i am intentionally ignoring her. This has led to tension and a yelling match on my part in front of our baby boy who got very scared that daddy was yelling.

I have tried better diets, different psych suggestions, but I can't fix this. I have tried to have heart to hearts with her on this subject but to no avail. Does anyone have any kind of suggestion on how let her know I am not ignoring her on purpose?

I can relate to this. I get very very very focused. I would suggest that you set up a specific signal, perhaps she pats you on the shoulder, or some cue that you can accept and use it. Or a cushball or a tossed scrunchy or something.

And when she does use it, you can *never* display frustration over her using the course of action that you agreed to.

Given the description of the LB's in the yelling match, I'm guessing that if you cleared up some of that, you might find her being less upset about the focus issue. And as a surefire way to drive a wedge between you, well, LB's will certainly do that, and make resolution of issues much more complicated.

The other option is to not engage in those activities when you may be needed by her for somethign else. (child management, conversation, etc). Save it for later at night or for any personal downtime you have.
