It has been 10 months since dday. What a ride it has been. Faster and scarier than any roller coaster at the amusement park. More emotional highs and lows than the death of my brother (during his time we all knew what was going to happen).
I woke up this morning to the touch of EL's hand brushing my face and a quiet 'I love you baby' and the memory of her cuddling up behind me as I laid on my side last night in between dream land and not quit wakefulness.
Still plenty of unknowns ahead, but they don't seem so unknown if ya know what I mean.
Was plan A worth it? So far all signs lead to YES!

Still moving forward. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
EL wanted me to post how well she is doing. I guess she figures I posted so much about the bad that she deserved to have some of the good mentioned as well.
8 months of NC makes a world of difference.
It is like night and day, our marriage just keeps getting better every day.
It has been a very nice steady progress. Nothing earth shattering, just a nice steady progress. I think it is perfect. Makes me more attentive to her and us. Makes me really consider things that go on. Helps to continue to teach me patience.
I don't think it would be so wonderful if things just snapped from one extreme to the other. That is what I wanted way back then, but I believe that if that were to have happened that the results would be in some way fake.
I think she and I are truly rebuilding in a slow and kinda deliberate way. Slow cooked is best right?
I guess what really makes me believe that she is in this for the long haul is kinda odd, but still means a lot to me.
She suggested that we go to a concert that she would never desire to go to in a million years. She *might* know one song from this band. But she knew that I would really enjoy it.
Life is pretty good again and we are back to working on core issues that all couples with children must work on...keep the kids on the straight and narrow and try to get some time for ourselves.
She and I do almost everything together these days. We even both leave work and meet at home for lunch 95% of the time.
She has even started to fill one of my biggest EN's...taking responsibility for disciplining the kids when she needs to instead of turning me into the enforcing bad guy when they don't mind her.
Thanks to everyone that supported me through the worst time in my life. The folks here helped me retain some semblance of sanity, and at least enough so that I came out ok on the other side.
I love her and believe that she loves me and that we will make it as long as we don't allow complacentcy and conflict avoidance to get mixed in again.

congratulations to you and EL, greer. I will never forget those long, dark nights we spent with you in Idiotville. Give our best to EL.

With that atitude, more study and a little detachment you WILL recover your M.
