Thank you for all of the information. I am strongly leaning towards calling that number this week. What kinds of questions would they ask my attorney?? I don't understand why they would want to talk with her? mlhb

They wont talk with her, unless you need them to. If they have information that you would like passed on. Besides that, they are not a part of the process.

This process does nto need attorneys. Since it is not a legal process, all a person can do is have their attorney there. The attorney cannot participate in the questioning, nor give legal advice to the person being questioned while they are being interviewed. This is why goign to the IG is so much simpler. Did you read peaches post to you? She threatened "what" when she went to the command? She threatened to go to the IG if the command didnt do something about her husband. Believe me, NO ONE wants the IG around. We were the most feared and hated people i nthe Army. While we were doing a service to the good troops by maintaining regulations and laws of the Army, we were still feared because of the power we possessed. And what power was that?

Well, there are only two people that have direct access to the commanding general. The first is the Chief of Staff. No one gets into see the commanding general without going thru him. That is, no one EXCEPT the IG. The IG is the personal advisor of the CG. The IG is called the eyes and ears of the commander. So, when we showed up, while we didnt have the power to order anything done, we did have the power to go straight back to our boss....that two star or three star or four star general...and give them a report on what we found, and what his options were. The power was from our connection with the man who had the ultimate power...the CG!!

And no one wanted the IG to find something bad that would get back to the old man. That is why we are feared. Added to this, we are feared because since we answer only to the CG, and to the Department of Army IG, we are not beholden to the "good ole boy" network. The only person we had to impress was the CG. So, we were impartial observers.

So, I hope you will call the NGB-IG as soon as possible. They will just ask you questions, kind of like your lawyer did when you first went to see him/her. To get all of the facts, so that the IG can frame what it is he is looking into and what he is looking for. Fro mthere, he will decide what other witnesses are needed (depending on the evidence or lack thereof that you have). And he will contact them. Once he has all the evidence he needs (which really isnt much...hearsay is enough to start and IG inquiry), your husband will be called in and put under oath. His testimony will be recorded. If he lies, then "Hello Fort Leavenworth!!" If he tells the truth, then all of the things I told you before come into play. Then the CG (in this case, the TAG of Vermont) will make her ruling and order your husband's commander to initiate action. And that TAG is not likely to whitewash it herself, because there are IGs at NGB and at the Air Force that are watching her. So, if you do not get satisfaction or think things were whitewashed, you could then go back to NGB-IG and state this. And then the TAG would be investigated. And we already know that she doesnt want that. So, she will do the right thing.

If you have any other questions, let me know. Like I said, I have done a number of these inquiries. They are pretty straight forward. I just wish civilian judges could do the same. Then, we could expose to a judge what our WSs are doing, they would be ordered to cease until divorced...and then withdrawal would commence immediately. And we would get an earlier chance at saving our marriages.

So, I'm here if you have mroe questions.

when I call them will they need to know everything right then and there? Or will they give me a chance to say fax them the information. I have a lot and I don't want it to go to waste! ow's stbxh is gathering receipts and phone bills and dates as we speak.(or type I should say). I don't have actual phone bills as I am not on his cell phone account but ow's will be just as damning and her h is on that account. But I imagine the military could subpeona any records they needed. Also, when I call will they ask me if I followed some chain of command? will they ask if I have exposed to co, etc? is it ok to just go to the top like that? and if they don't need my attorney then they don't need to know i ever even started separation papers right? It sounds like it is just the fact he is married and cheating, bottom line, whether he lives here or not. And he lived here until last month when he just moved out. H is going to try and say he had no contact with her after he got back from tech training but I have proof that is not true.

So at bare minimum they will definitely say no contact until there is a FINALIZED DIVORCE correct? And it will be a cold day before I shell out the 2400.00 it costs here to do one! So by the time he started one (if he even bothered) it would be well after he got back from iraq before it could be finished. And what is NO CONTACT? does that even mean not even in the same room type thing? I ask because they are on the volunteer fire dept together here in town and they sure see eachother there. Would he be forced to quit that? And, the worst part is on know of 2 occassions where he had the kids on his days off and he got a babysitter to watch them so he could be with ow! when he was supposed to be with them! Thanks for your help. AFter you answer these ?'s I am probably gonna call. mlhb

They can have you fax the info. Whatever works. The records are good.

On the chain-of-command...you are a civilian, there is no chain-of-command. IGs usually ask servicemembers who have complaints if they have gone thru their chain-of-command, because if it can be handled at the lowest level, it should. You are a civilian. Yo uare under no such obligation because you do nto have a chain-of-command.

They really wont care about the separation papers. You see, your husband has committed adultery. He continues to commit adultery. What you do now is not of the military's concern. But they are concerned that this airman is not living up to the standards and laws. They WILL correct that, though!

If he tries to say he had no contact with her, and you have proof...then we have lying to an IG....bad, bad stuff!!

What will they say to your husband? I cannot say 100% for sure, because as I said, OJ did get off even though he was guilty. This TAG might whitewash it for some reason. She might be an adulteress herself and not want to hurt the guy. Who knows?!?! But that is why if you do not get satisfaction, then you can take the TAG to NGB-IG and state that the TAG did not follwo the rules in her punishment of your husband.

Again, I doubt a professional officer of her stature would allow her career to be damaged by some airman who cant keep his pants on. So, my call is that at the minimum, he will be ordered to cease contact with OW until divorced.

And it depends on the order given. Like, if the OW and him worked in the same building, it would be hard for him to avoid any contact with her. But, in our division, our CG basically had the soldier's commander order the soldier to cease all contact until divorced. And all meant all!!

Let me know how your call goes with NGB-IG. I probably know a few guys and gals still up there in that office. They are good people.
