I planned on taking my daughter away for weekend, but in-laws planned a birthday party/cookout for my FIL. If you've followed my post, my inlaws have been disrespectful towards me and causing problems with restoring my marriage.

Wife said she wanted to take my daughter to the cookout and said she'd like for me to come.

It will be uncomfortable and I also have an issue about going. This people have showed me a great deal of disrespect as the father of their grandchild and as a BS.

Should I go, or should I go to a movie by myself? I figured it was a chance to either make a statement either by saying I won't stand for this type of behavior or that I am above this and won't let it stop me from interacting with the grandparents of my daughter.

Take the high road, go and hold your head up high. How many of those people could say they worked as hard and as honorably as you on their M?

I vote for taking the high road. You are a better man than this. Show them. Just my .02cents.

ok, but this is very uncomfortable.

I actually overheard my MIL tell my wife "to divorce me, that the OM said he really cared for her," and she kept the toy the OM gave my wife for my daughter. My MIL also stole some papers out of our house I had written concerning questions I wanted to ask my wife about her affair. They were on my desk.

It's just not comfortable to be around them.

I cant imagine it being more uncomfortable to be around them, than it is to be around your WW. You can do it. Just be the man of honor and dignity that you are. You must be that for your daughter. It doesnt sound like that influence is going to come from anyone but you in this situation.
