I have read some inoformation that is surprising to me. My STBXW has communicated with several other people that she remarried to the OM who of course is just wonderful. My question is how could I verify if they are married or not. State is GA

You can go to the Register of Deeds in the county where this probably occured, and for a small fee look it up. Many counties even have this access online, because it is Public Records.

It could be that your wife is saying that to cause a reaction from you, or that your friends have made it up or elaborated on what your wife said.

It should be a matter of public record. Check with the county court where she was supposedly wed.

You could also notify your atty of the hearsay. Your atty might have some leverage in the area of public records or at the very least he/she could confer with your STBXW's atty and get to the bottom of the matter.

Best way to put rumors to rest is to tackle them head on.

She does not know that I know. It was a document that she wrote to a friend. I am not sure what county she did the deed. Is there a statewide source I could go to?

I am pretty sure they are all handled by county. Try this:
Vital Records resource. I'm not sure if they are totally current, however.
You may have to think of ways to narrow it down. Or can you check her cell phone/email records to see if any out of town calls were made?
Have you considered asking her to see what she says? Where are you two with communication?

Don't turn it into a drama. Tell your attorney what you know. Rumor or not. Your atty will have better connections to find out the truth.
