I was just outside putting the bird feeders, lawn furniture, etc., in the shed. Apparently our back-door neighbors are just going to leave all the chairs, balls, plants and toys (or "projectiles" as H called them) laying around in their back yard. Not too smart, if we get the winds they're forecasting for our area.
Cudos to you, Shellybird, for helping out! That's really good of you! I should've gone up there to help after church, instead of doing 4 loads of laundry and cleaning toilets.

You can hit I-55 and get to N. MS (where I am) or Memphis in about 6-8 hours if the traffic isn't too bogged down. Where are you in North MS?

Gosh, Susan. I wish I had a battery operated TV! That one didn't occur to me. Rite Aid. I'm on my second one. We wore one out years ago on another hurricane.

I'm far enough north that people are evacuating TO here, even though it's supposed to still be hurricane strength here. Lady C., I'm glad you're family is leaving Mobile. One little wobble and the bay would be bad.
I still have to finish picking up my "projectiles" too AP. Where are you?? Shoot, I need to do laundry too. Good luck.
Hang in there Susan -- it should be mid-morning when your area starts getting the worst of it?

Our local TV station just announced that we are under curfew from 4 am - 4 pm tomorrow (and it may be extended later). NOT because of looters, but because of safety.

Good luck to all of you in it's path. This could be one of the strongest storms in history.
They are emphasizing that people as far inland as the Virginias and Pennsylvania should be prepared for major flooding.

LOL...of course your H's name is Mr. Susan! My friend's H is named Hank, so if your co-worker's H is named Hank, maybe your co-worker is my friend...which would make the world even smaller!

Hang in there, Susan! I imagine it's been ROUGH for y'all!
Here in Rankin County (just east of Jackson), it's WINDY as heck and about to get worse. We're looking at winds of 70-90 mph here. We already have power lines down, flooding, and tornado warnings in nearby counties. I can't even imagine what it was like on the coast this morning. I pray it wasn't as bad as the officials think it was....there's no communication with the emergency personnel down there, from what I understand.
Please continue to keep our state in your prayers!

TM, Thanks for the help. H is on his way already. Spacecase sent me some hotel and car info. H got a room for $30.00 per night and a car.
