I'm not the Miss Manners of forum posting but I'm just wondering about this. What is preferable, short, frequent new threads that address current issues or long, on-going threads? I've seen both. Sometimes short threads gets lost but long threads can be hard to navigate. I do think that multiple issues can be dealt with in one thread rather than having several threads running concurrently.
What's everybody's opinion?

I prefer long threads like Georgia's. Gramn's and Hurting and EAV, easier FOR ME to keep up with the person. I can just look for that thread when I am busy and MULTI-TASKING like now at work. I'm more apt to post on a LONG THREAD and keep up with it. However, there's a problem catching up with the person's issues if you don't start from the beginning. It might be helpful to do short threads for catch up and then refer the newbie back to the old thread...

I like the longer threads, with updates to the title - so we can see at a glance what's new...yet be able to scroll back through the thread for history!

I prefer the many threads to the one long thread.
The long thread has it's advantages, but unless it see's activity often, it's a pain to find and update. The long thread too, feels like I'm reading a book instead of an update or a question.
