i was wondering what the one factor, above all others, was the one that made you decide to give your marriage another chance or to move back home and maintain the status quo?
for example, it could have been financial problems, the affair died, you changed your mind, your spouse changed, etc..
i think mine was financial. don't hate me for this because i still pretty happy with my renewed marriage.

I did it for the kids only, at the beginning. It's more than that now, but the kids were the deciding factor.

I am not the betrayer in our marriage but for what it is worth my husband told me he came back to work on our marriage because he realized I really did love him, I was strong and I hung in there. He said the reason for his affair was he didn't think I really loved him, didn't think I cared etc. -- and he got attention from a much more attractive coworker. He said our daughter had nothing to do with his coming back. (I am still angry that he doesn't see how devestating divorce is on children - he thinks they are so resilient they can get over it if the adults handle it correctly)

I'll take a stab and answer for H. 60% kids, 25% basic morality, 10% didn't like and/or found OW to be a pycho and 5% me.
Why did I keep him? At the moment I made the decision...100% kids. Now I'm glad I did because we have a better marriage than ever.
------------------
Faith, Hope, Love Remain,
but the greatest of these is Love.
1 Corinthians 13:13

Like I just said on another thread...
I thought I loved the OM, but I loved my H more. My kids are older teens (18,17,14) and they would have been hurt, of course, but wouldn't have been quite as damaged as young children (IMHO). Bottom line: I knew it was the right thing to do, and I loved my H despite all our problems.

------------------
Marriage: the most important contract you'll ever enter into, and the most sacred.
Sheryl, don't bet on it. I think teens are just as hurt by a divorce as younger kids. Just ask folks on this board...
--andy
