A few days ago Undo got into a car accident. Nothing too serious and everyone drove away fine. I told some of the people at work all of the guys revealed something interesting. Of the 5 people in my department we are all BS's (creepy) and all of our spouses had car accidents within 6 months of D-day. Also, two other known recovering couples not from my work also had car accidents within 6 months of D-day.
Maybe just a coincidence, but anyone else have this happen to them?

Hopeful, I am glad Undo is ok. I think it is all coincidence really. When I was a BS the first time I had a near fatal accident with my kids in the car.

i had car accidents after both d-days, as in the very next day. the first time, i backed out of my driveway and into our neighbor's car from across the street. he was backing out of his driveway as well. our driveways are directly across from each other. it was my fault, he was clearly backing out first.
the second time... i lost control of my car while getting on an expressway, hit the side rail and then over corrected too much and blew out my tires on the curb on the opposite side. did quite a lot of damage to the car and tires that time, but didn't hurt anyone else including myself.
actually that second incident was not after the second d-day but the morning after having to tell my H that the OM had contacted me.

Funny you mentioned this... my FWH had an accident that totalled his car (which he got from the FOW) about 2 weeks after his ONS.
After each consecutive D-Day he'd nearly get into an accident, guess his brain was too busy trying to keep all his lies straight to really pay attention to the traffic, overall when I was in the car <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />.
Someone throw me a map already!

Hopeful~
Glad to hear that Undo wasn't injured. Just thought I'd jump in and share my own experience here...Just after I had become involved in an EA with the OM, and 3 days before I was going on a roadtrip to see him, where I knew we were going to take things to the next level(PA)...I was in a accident, totaled my Saab 9-3 convertible and had to have stitches on the bridge of my nose...I was involved in such an internal struggle with what I was currently doing and what I knew I was about to do, I had begun that week over using(read abusing) Xanax which is what caused me to be so spaced out (high) at the time of the collision...it wasn't enough for me that I was completely fogged out by the affair and it's effect on my biochemistry...OH NO, I just had to take it one step further and try to numb everything with prescription drugs too...WHAT A TOTAL "WINNER" I HAD BECOME!--It is so embarassing to look back at ALL of my behavior at that time...I am so ashamed. I am so blessed, however, that my daughter wasn't in the car with me and that no one, besides me, suffered injury...but I realize that that might not have been the case. What is so unbelievable is how "happy" all WSes believe themselves to be while in their A's...What a SHAM!!!

Wow, now this is very interesting. Although it wasn't right after my H's D-day (I'm the FWW) ... it wasn't too far off. D-Day was sometime in late July. And then a few weeks after that, the same day Hurricane Charlie hit here, I got in a car accident ... the first one I had been in since I was like 17.
I always blamed it on the fact that I was so nervous about the hurricane and wanted to get off the road so I wasn't paying attention ... but maybe there was more to it!

Few days after my H left me I almost drove over a pedestrian at a stop sign. I saw her but for some reason instead of pressing the break as I wanted to, I kept my foot on the gas. The girl was in shock and so was I. It was one of the worse experiences of my life as I had completely lost control of my body. I kept thinking I could have killed her. I ended up pulling over and calling my H to pick me up...
I think the stress for either spouse can be too much...

My DD had an accident (not injured) within a month of dday (WH's truck). My WH got sick from weed killer while spraying yard and jammed his thumb (on separate counseling days). WH also got heat exhaustion this past week (we had been arguing for two days).
I think we are all distracted and stressed out. Maybe it's a good sign that WS is distracted.
