i just cannot do it!!!!!
and it is stressing me out. i have 90 min before a really important mtg, i focus on it for 5 min and then i just can't.
i wonder off and look for new email...
i read here
i take a little walk
i obsess over going to the vending machine!!! however, i have been doing well with my food. i keep telling myself, "that (name of food) is NOT compatible with your goal of being healthy" and "losing weight will fullfill your H's need for an AS and proper eating is required to do that!!!"
then i get mad at myself and try to focus on work again
i'm going to get fired (ok, i doubt i will get fired) but i am not happy with my productivity!!!

Hi FL. It has only been in the last week I have managed any decent productivity at work since my DDay, May 19. Everything else has suffered, not just work productivity. I am finally coming around and getting some things done which helps to fuel my sense of accomplishment and leads to further improvement. So, hang in there.
Me = FBS age 51 FWH = age 51 M 25 years, 2 children 16 and 20 D-Day 5/19/05 Recovered and happy

FL, I would very much appreciate it if you would email me off the boards today: faithfulwifecj@yahoo.com or cindy_cj_wolfe@hotmail.com. I have some thoughts that may help you, not all of which I'd like to have on the public forum. HOWEVER, I will also reply on your other thread in a more general way so that others/lurkers can at least see a bit of what I have to say. Thanks! Hang in there, FL. (((((FinallyLearning))))) FNCJ

Let me tell you FL, I very nearly did lose my job. I wasn't working when D-Day hit, but somehow managed to find a good job within a month. Then, WH moved back in and life was still pretty crappy and I came this close to losing said job.
I can't offer any good advice, but know you aren't alone. I have driven my friends completely nuts I'm sure because I've called/emailed them constantly just needing some contact.
I also know that if you live in the USA, have worked for your employer for more than 6 months and you get benefits from your employer, you can be eligible for Short-Term Disability during times like this. If you have an HR department it may be of use to you to talk with one of them about it and to get the forms you'll need. You will need to talk with a Psychiatrist/Psychologist that will be the one to fill out their portion of the paperwork.
Short term disability is what is used when a woman goes on maternity leave. It is also used when a family has a crisis. I personally used it when I suffered a miscarriage a couple of years ago. I was able to take 3 weeks off from work, talk to my therapist and get my head together again. A friend of mine used it when he was going through a divorce and he was out for 8 weeks.
It's an option if you need it. Take care.
