I received a message on my machine today from h's captain saying the time they are supposed to meet on sunday is now 4am to leave for florida for combat training. Does it make sense that his fire dept captain would be going with them for combat training? he is part of the unit that would be going to iraq right? would the LT. Col. be going too or no? I am wondering if his captain will talk to him while he is in florida (he is considered active duty then) I know they have down time while there. Must be like a day time training and evenings off or something. do you think it is possible I haven't heard anything yet because they will talk to him then or would that be unlikely? He said they would have taken care of it when he was in texas at tech school if they had known about it then. (but I didn't know about it then). what are your thoughts here mortor??? thanks, mlhb

The LTC will get to it, probably when he has time and your husband is easily accessible. Since he is a Guardsman, it makes more sense for him to wait for your husband to show up to duty, where the LTC can schedule time to have your husband come in. So I would think the LTC would use this time to have the talk.
The LTC might not even do it, if he isnt there at the training. He might order your husband's captain to do it, since the captain would probably be there. Either way doesnt matter. If he does that, the captain will be told by the LTC what he wants done and said, and the captain will take care of it.
So hang tight. The training will be the best time to deal with this, as they have a "captive" audience in your husband.
As I said before, this is i nthe realm of the IG now...and that LTC wants this case to go away. So he will get it done at the earliest time that he can.

Thanks again mortor. LTC told me he had not as yet decided whether he would talk with him or have the captain do it. He was going to discuss it with the captain first. So I am thinking maybe in florida with the captain doing it. LTC was planning to call h before they went to florida and talk on the phone but maybe they decided in person was better. will keep you posted. just antsy ya know! mlhb
