And I am NOT happy !!!!!!!!

What is wrong with me?

I emailed Susan about this and she said "You're a MOM, that's what's wrong woth you."

Susan said to me "Be proud of him and give him to God."

I'm trying ..... ugh .....

HELP ME

I'm anxious and feel weird...... ugh ugh ugh

That's your confession? Honestly, Pep, I was hoping for something a little less normal !

Weird how? Not that weird isn't a feeling, but I'm trying to get a more clear cut assessment because I'm hoping maybe I actually have something to give to someone else.

Be proud of him!

There is a lot of devastation there and help is so needed.

Be available to let him talk to you about what he sees. Some of it will not be pretty and he needs to talk about his feelings.

You are a good Mom and worry is normal. Susan gave you excellant advice.

My prayers are with you and your son.

(((( Pep ))))

Of course you are concerned about him. He is your baby. But, Pep - this only proves that you have done an excellent job of raising him. He wants to go help others.

What a great mother you are !!!!

We are sooooo lucky to have you here.

Weird how?

This is the kid we feared would wind up in prison or dead .... we had to send him off to residential treatment twice !!!!

and

we just "got him back" .... if you know what I mean ... he's clean and sober, and he's kind, and he's focused on good things .... and we are just getting used to having the REAL HIM with us ... and I want to hang onto that kid and NEVER let him go

*crying*

we thought we'd lost him to his self-demons
\
we fought for him when he was fighting us

and finally we have a relationship that warms all of us

and now he's going to some bacteria ridden cesspool and wade around in muck and heat ...

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I feel like a freakin baby!

Pep, what is the deal?? Tell the boy NO CAN DO! That will be the end of that foolishness. Want Auntie Mel to have a word with the boy?

Pep:

This is MAJOR! What a conflict!

You got him back from ****** and are fearful of losing him..

If it's any consolation, though, my wimpy, entitled 19 year old son wouldn't dare set foot anywhere near a disaster zone...not even an ambulance or even a hospital...

What would he do without his cellphone..and what about his "Tims" and "rims"...

You have every reason to be proud...

Sounds like you are experiencing a MIRACLE...GOD's WORK...

This sounds like he's serving his PURPOSE IN LIFE...all of this sounds MEANT TO BE...

I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

Pep, I can't think of anything better for a *formerly* troubled young man than to go out and help people who REALLY have it bad.

Just make sure he gets his shots and gets his training. The Red Cross will make sure that he is cared for, too, as well as having him care for others. It's not like he's going there alone.

Tell him how proud of him you are and look forward to seeing a fine young man with a different look in his eyes when he gets back.

Well Pep, everyone has beaten me to the punch.

I got chills down my spine reading about your son's God-given WONDERFUL opportunity for a character building, soul defining experience ~ at a time in his life where he needs reinforcement of the lessons he learned in therapy and rehab and all that work he's done....and you wanna get in the way of that?

Sounds to me like you have made this about you my dear.

Your fear is not for your son but for yourself, and a lack of trust in God.

Fessing up is a good first step.

Now, when I just couldn't 'get there' emotionally, which I do understand, I made a beautiful "God Box".

I decorated a shoe box, made it look really cool.

Then I wrote out all my fears in a note to God, and placed it inside with a picture of my husband.

And then I put that box out of my own reach and LEFT IT THERE.

Plan Pep...or Plan God...which will help your son the most?

Pep,

Thank God that you got him back!

...and grow into a man.

It sucks, doesn't it, letting go?

Cry all you want. I would. Just don't let him see. It's scary, isn't it? But, you know what they say...it isn't brave if you're not scared.
