I am so thankful to have found this forum. One year ago this past Saturday I asked my girlfriend (we have a child together) to marry me. This was my third attempt to get our family intact. She said she needed some time to think about it and asked to be alone for the weekend. I agreed. The next night, I decided to stop by put a red rose in her door and what do I find.. another man over her house. It takes her forver to answer the door and she is all disheveled... I am crushed. She tells me "no" a few days later and I begin putting the pieces of my life back together. A few months later I am dating a nice woman and getting life in order. That is until December 04' when my dad died. The ex sees me at the funeral with my new partner and now suddenly can't live without me. She tells me this male was only a friend and NOTHING sexual ever happened. I of course initially believe all this... mostly because of the emotional state I was in (she called the night of the funeral)and also because I wanted to. You guessed it... it was all a lie. She had this on going sex thing for three years! Lie after lie came out of her mouth. And she continued to talk to him and not tell him she was with me again (for 6 months). She even offered to meet him for dinner even though she knew the hurt it would cause me.
Anyway, the last three months, she has been treating me so much better and seems to have turned a corner. But how in the world do you get over some of these hurts? How do I ever put myself in the position of asking her to marry me again knowing full well what she did to me before?

Do you really want to enter marriage for life with a woman that lied and cheated your entire relationship?

Double digit ditto to faithful follower.

If you pursue this relationship and succeed, don't erase your marriage builder bookmark.

This is a pathological liar

Hi, mk.

Unless there has been some life altering event, she is unlikely to ever stop the initial behavior. She just gets better at hiding it.

As the others essentially told you - run.

How do I know? I did similar things to what your girl has done, more times than I can count.

She has a character issue, and the chances are, it is still there.

All the best,
Gimble

-An infidel will remain unreachable so long as their sense of entitlement exceeds their ability to reason.
