I have been curious about so many of you for ages. Some of the MB names are very self-explanatory, but some are very mysterious. So....for anyone who doesn't mind telling, what does your name mean? Or why did you pick it?

I'll go first. My online name had been you_neak ever since Al Gore invented the internet, and I always felt pretty youneak, too, until I came here and found out somebody had already written a manual about what my whole life was like at the time (The WS Handbook). It was almost as if someone had been bugging my house and making transcripts of conversations between my then-WH and me. It didn't take too long to figure out that I was really just notso....you know.

Well, mine was after what I thought was a Beatles song, but then someone here told me I had it wrong!

I'll go, since I've worried that people think I have this name because I think I'm "wise"...trust me, I am under no such foolish assumptions.

I've been "Owl" for a long time...I helped someone when I was a teenager when they were in an accident, and because of that I was named with "Owl" by some native american friends...as they believe that since the owl is the only bird of prey that flies by night it often has to do with death...so only someone who's "medicine" can overcome death can be named with an owl.

I've been Owl for the last two decades now to those who know me. It's got nothing to with being wise, because if I had truly been wise I would have never ended up here...I'm just now getting smart enough to appreciate REAL wisdom when I meet it.

I'll play.

Rprynne = Roger Prynne aka Roger Chillingworth.

Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel the Scarlet Letter.

Those who know the book, know how I felt when I chose the name.

Actually, when I came here I felt just as the name suggested. I felt like my job was as a husband and a father and I LOST one of my jobs....

Anywho, beings I got re-hitched this year, I've been contemplating new names but ain't come up with anything yet.

My screen name is from my favorite OT verse: Isaiah 40:31 -
"they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not tire; they shall walk, and not faint"

Well my original name was deeply sorry, meaning how deeply sorry I was for everything that happened - then someone in Idiotville combined it and called me Dorry so it was easier - and that's how Dorry came about

Shaden... a combination of my two sons' names... which I should probably refrain from saying what they are.

Great thread... I was wondering what some of these names meant.

You're name has always brought to mind one of my favorite hymn's... On Eagles Wings. Here's the refrain:

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

The night I signed up here I was feeling pretty low but had been reading for a day or two and was beginning to feel more hopeful. I chose the name because I was feeling that I didn't have faith in my then WH, I didn't have faith in our marriage, I didn't have faith in much of anything because I felt like my world was crashing down.

But I DID have faith in the knowledge I would fight and I would be there for my kids. I had faith in me.

I think mine is fairly self explanatory...but for those Aggies in the crowd: I frequently travel for work...to the tune of 75-85,000 actual flown miles per year - all domestic. I also travel for vacations, generally using the frequent flyer miles acquired from having my butt in that seat so very often.

Although this year has been slow, mostly because I have had trouble being very productive...so maybe I will need a name change in the near future...

TM

Oh, and I wanted to say one more thing...if you think I misspelled it, travelling can be spelled with one "l" or two...either is correct. The lack of a "g" is so you know I am from Texas!

Hard Head probably doesn't require much explanation.

Married twice and am having the EXACT same problems this time as last time. So, I guess I didn't learn anything from the last time...nothing got through to my brain...I forgot the pain...the disdain...and now, once again I think I'm going insane...hence I have a hard head.

However, I have successfully convinced my family that 'it's not my fault.' Actually, it's just one of my favorite lines from a movie - Han Solo, Star Wars episode III. (or 1 depending on how you count) - and I couldn't resist a joke.

Great diversionary thread.
