Just heard a report that more Australians have been killed in another terrorist attack in Bali.
We have our friend Terry her H and 3 kids up there right now so we are anxiously waiting to hear they are ok!

I have been checking on my MSN newspages and CNN. Nothing about this has been report around here yet. Keep us posted! I wonder if my WH who is on a trip to Singapore might have taken a long weekend in Bali. (We've done it before.)
Chilling to think of another attack. The Balinese people are so nice. It's their economy that gets hurt that worst. What are those stupid terrorists thinking?

The US news services have finally picked up the story. Earlier, I had to google on Australian news to find any reportd.
I visited Bali about 6 years ago. Not that many Americans do. It's such a beautiful place with a rich culture. Most people don't know that historically the people of Bali are Hindu. When we were there, I was told that most of the vendors were Muslims from Java. They were very different from the Balinese. The Balinese seemed very gentle and friendly. I loved the dancing and the gamalan orchestras. Their history and culture are amazing.
It's terrible that terrorists have targeted this small island once again. They set off bombs, kill people and runaway. They also ruin the tourist-based economy. It's not like the island is a wealthy place. The long term effect is the ruin of the economy of Bali and it's people. Where does that fall in the goals of the Islamic Jihad?
I don't understand these "people". I think that they just like to kill.

AW, this is terrifying.
Scariest thing ? I am starting to smell an undercurrent of anti-muslim feeling in the UK. A serious, 'take up arms against' type feeling.
Prayers with the victims. I'm sure news of this will strengthen Aussie's arm, though AW.

Bob
Aussie & I have Muslim friends from the ME & they are sickened by the murders. They left the ME to seek an non extremist place to live..the terrorists in effect drove them out of their own country. They are some of the gentlest & kind people I have ever met.
Now you have the feelings of them & us stating to emerge and its wrong. Unfortunately radicals exist within these communtities because OUR governments many times have let them in ........ very foolish & short sighted.
We had some idiots throw red paint at a SIKH Temple because they had turbins on their head!!! I pray we can work at cutting this hate off at the beginning,, though I guess if it was your own family hurt that would be so hard.
