It is unanimous - Sunday, October 30th. Since nobody has suggested a time other than me I propose to confirm it as 6 pm (Only cause I want to watch the Detroit Lions game from 1 to 4:30ish). My wife is the native Atlantan, I'm still a Yankee and despite their losing ways I hope to always remain a Lions fan even after we move there next spring. The Falcons have a bye week so they are not an issue.

The only issue left to decide is WHERE.

We are very excited to meet all of you.

Maybe it would be fun to make it a costume party...I'll be the yankee (all I have to do is rent a lexus when we fly in, wear my John Kerry t-shirt, put on loafers, chomp my gum, and tell everyone how much better it is up north or back east all night long). Just kidding - please nobody actually suggest we dress up...I'm hoping to nip this in the bud before someone inevitably suggests it.

You know, I could make that myself. It would be great to meet some of you folks (and not too bad to meet the rest of you, LOL ).

I'm about 4 hours away, less if it's in Northern parts.

I'm emailable at mb11094@yahoo.com

OK Sunday the 30th.

A kid friendly place is Joe's Crab Shack -- The ones I know of are Town Center Area (Kennesaw) it has a play ground there is also one at the Northpoint Mall area in Roswell I am not sure about the playground area. Thats my 2 cents.
I am not sure if I will bring my kids -- I will probably get my parents to watch them.

Rats!

I just realized that I swapped weekends so that I could go out and visit Still Seeking and the Grand Canyon - so I'll have DD on the 30th. 8 hours in the car for her is too much to ask since there's nothing in it for her.

Hmmm. I forgot all about Halloween too.

All the same, if I were going to drive all day, I'd want to go to a NICE place. The place FGG was talking about with the atomic garlic bread sounded interesting.

I hope you work it out where you can come, AD. I would like to meet you.

tdr - I think Joe's Crab Shack would be a good place as well. I've not been to a Joe's in Atlanta, but I have in a number of other cities and they're always good. I didn't know they had a playground. Can I bring Jeb? (He's going to the beauty shop tomorrow).

Whatever location the rest of the gang picks is okay with me.

Whatever location we decide on, we'll make sure to post the addy so you folks out of town can find it.

As for me, I'm open to anything. I don't have kids so that isn't an issue for me.

If we are considering kind of a middle place (I'm thinking mid way between 75 & 85 on the north side) there are couple of good italian restaurants that serve "family style" dinners. Good eats, good price, TONS of food. I would love to have big group of us sitting around a big table eating, laughing and talking. It would be a dream come true for an only child like me.

Places I'm thinking of are:
Maggiano's Little Italy outside Perimeter Mall
http://www.maggianos.com/locations/detail.asp?unit_id=001.025.0162

or

Buca di Beppo near Northpoint Mall (further north up GA400)

I would vote for Buca of those two. There are also several good restaurants at Windward (which is also amazingly convenient for me ).

Somebody better post a poll - list all the "eateries" and get some votes.

We need some way of sorting out the maybys from the definites. If DD was not with me that day, I would definitely come - even if you ate at Hardees.

So, since I'm a definite maybe, I'll not vote. Let the locals and the definites pick.

85 and Pleasant Hill... now I know where that is! That would probably be most convenient for me.

A thought...

Many areas will have kids trick-or-treating on the evening of the 30th, as it is a weekend day. Let's be sure to check on this each and consider alternative times if needed.

I work in the Perimeter Mall area so Maggianos would be great.

The Perimeter (Hwy 285 and Ashford Dunwood Rd) seems like it is the most central location for our out of towners. Athens, Tenn? and Coastal GA am I right?

Anywhere in the northern perimeter you are talking about would be okay with me. If we can keep it close to the loop it would be most convenient.
