I got this in my email this morning and I thought it was cute...
*******
I asked God to take away my habit. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary
I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own!, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me. God said... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

Hes doing pretty good - Back in preschool and making leaps and bounds - he has gotten back into biting when he gets really angry - and bonking his head - so trying to re-curb that. The program he was on pre-Autism diagnosis is the same as post diagnosis - so it's not overwhleming for him or anything. He can spell his name - they are the ONLY letters he knows in the alphabet lol...and he spells the D's as P's - I wonder if that's part of the disability or if he's a little dislexic too?
How is your DS?

Oh, I am so glad you are happy with his program. Are you taking him to a behvioral therapist for the anger?
My DS is doing pretty well. Asthma has been bad lately so we are back to doing breathing treatments. He loves school and his teacher is including math in all the learning they do. She has big plans that had to be scaled back due to the reality of diapering, feeding etc.. of 8 multi-handicapped children. She is young and really wants them to succeed. She told me he is the only one in her class that pays careful attention to everything she says. I noticed that too. He really is attentive during reading and doing homework. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Thanks for asking.

Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.

It's all about control - and giving it ALL to him - even if you don't like his answers...
It's the part I struggle with the most - giving up my need to be in control and let God take my reigns...
