Is that the only kind of examples you have in your life?

Why should i get married? Maybe you should hang out with different people. Almost every man I know is NOT a cheater, myself included. T

Why should i get married? Choose better friends.

Married men live longer.
Is that like eating all healthy food makes you live longer, but who wants to live so long if that's what you have to eat?
I don't think so at all. We love being married.
Falling in love, getting to know each other's families, getting married, buying a house, building careers, having babies, losing jobs, losing your parents, all the other awful and wonderful things that happen in life, sharing life with someone who has your best at heart... someone who knows you better than anyone in the world, building a history together, building a LIFE together, sharing grandparenthood with someone, going thru sickness, hardships, joys, and having that one safe place to take everything, that shoulder to cry on, that person to grow & develop with. That's what marriage is supposed to be. I know it gets screwed up a lot, but that is the model that we strive for.
The reason infidelity as you see on this forum is so devastating is because marriage the way God intended is SO GOOD. When that intimacy is betrayed, it hurts like no other hurt. That's because the closeness of a husband and a wife is unmatched.
I believe God's purpose for marriage is to pair us with another fallible human being to show us our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of our spouse, to show God's love to each other, to raise Godly children, and to grow closer to God. That's the ONLY love triangle I want to be part of anymore! Me, my H, & God. !

Mrs. Stowaway, that was beautiful (sob, sniff). That's what I want, when/if I get married again. I loved being married, too bad I ended up with the wrong person the first time. I've seen my parents' marriage and the marriages of some of my friends, so I know a faithful, good marriage is possible. Just hoping for my turn now.

One thing I've learnt is that you should never assume that what you see as a successful marriage now never suffered the agony of infidelity. For example, I recently learned that one of my aunts had been involved in an affair many years ago. She admitted the affair to her H and they reconciled. Today they're one of the best couples I know.
