Where is the fine line drawn between internet porn addiction and good ol healthy looking. How do you know if it is normal looking or an addiction? If not looked at regularly but is still hidden from the spouse, even though he knows my views on it is that addiction?

YOUR line is where you decide it should be ... you don't need a MB consensus to be correct!

When the behavior is both compulsive and harmful ... and there is some form of withdrawl when the behavior is denied

A person with an addiction is always drawn back to the behavior although they have attempted to stop. A person with a addiction tends to hide their actions for fear others will find out.

Let's put it this way: the A began when I was putting pressure on ending Jabba's porn addiction. Apparently, this is a common pattern: when pressure is put on reality (the addiction), escape into fantasy (a new affair).

We were in counseling because I couldn't handle the porn. The counselor -- normally an intelligent person -- joined Jabba in jacking around with the word "addiction." Is this an "addiction" or just a bad habit? What is an addiction, anyway?

My response: "What do I care what you call it? Call it chicken pot pie, if you must. He is choosing it over his marriage."

An addiction, in my opinion, is when it cannot be relinquished even when it is destroying things of more value -- jobs, marriages, family.
