Can anyone suggest a good keylogger software that is safe to use, (ie not a program to get my data) and that can be installed to a remote computer without having access physically to that computer.

Few things about keyloggers..
You're only supposed to install it on the computer you OWN.
In some states, phone tapping is considered illegal unless ALL parties have given consent. I would assume using a keylogger would be the same in those states.
If you decide to use one, you best make sure you know as much or more about computers than the person you're wanting to track.

Very old post... ...but it can be used as a starting point: If you search through the six pages of snoop tricks. II use an older version of SpyBuddy (but it's only on my 'family' PC... in the living room)... and it's for local logging (not remote). <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Jim

Try eblaster...ou can pay an additional fee to get a remote install option. All you do is send your WS an email with a file attached, and when they open the file, it secretly installs the program on their computer.
I have no ideas about the legalities in your state, though.

waiting, would you have access to that computer to install it or would it have to installed remotely?

Just some thoughts about keylogger software.
I think installing it on a home computer purchased using the income of the family is legally at worst a gray area (from the point of vies of a BS). The computer is equal property of both in the marriage. I doubt evidence gathered using keylogger software would be legal in court. Although evidence gathered using keylogger software might be inadmissible to court I am sure evidence gathered using information gained from keylogger software can be used. For example: use the keylogger to discover passwords. Then access e-mail using that password. If the e-mail account is paid from joint income I am fairly certain a spouse can legally access the account.
If the WS finds the software the BS can always deny, feign ignorance or just accuse the WS of having installed the software himself. Therefore I doubt the WS can use the act of the BS using keylogger software to threaten police or court action or to show how “paranoid” BS is.
To completely remove any track of the software have a friend buy it (if online) or purchase from a shop and pay cash. Do not register the product with the company. If possible install the software on own computer and get acquainted with it before installing on BS computer.
Very few people choose random passwords. My passwords are normally a combination of my former cars plate numbers and the car-make. I would totally believe my wife if she “worked out” my new password. I would therefore just think of a plausible story (found it in a shirt-pocket when doing laundry, mumbled it in sleep…) if asked how I got the password.
Use knowledge gained from WS computer carefully. Do not tell how you get your info. Although tempting waving a printed e-mail might just cause him to be more careful in communications – and I don’t mean with you!
I am certain installing keylogger software on a computer not owned by you or spouse is illegal. I am also certain that it is traceable. I would NEVER install keylogger software on a company computer. Most companies have IT policies that scan for new software, viruses, malware, spyware and so on so it’s very likely that keylogger software would be detected right away. The initial reaction by the IT department would most likely be industrial spying so the chances are they will react quickly and trace the software.

I would not have access to the computer I am talking about. I think she is going to my inlaws and using theirs.
Thanks to all who have posted, I really feel horrible about even asking about keylogging software. It makes me feel dirty and dishonest. I am not even sure if I want to go down this path.
My only reason for asking is to verify NC. I guess I hope to find nothing. My concern because it has been almost 2 months since D-day that she still remains in the "fog". I would have thought if NC was still in place she would be better by now.
She says it is, but I just don't know for certian. I know this, that she is not using the home computers, cell phones. Our home computer already has a parental control device that logs everything and she knows that. She also knows I am checking cell logs.
What I don't know is text messaging over the computer, ie going to a cingular or verizon site to send IM to another phone. Heck, she may have bought another phone and I just having found it.
I just feel like I need to know for my own sanity. I probably will not do anything.

I checked out the eblaster remote installation option and from what I can gather you need their Spector CNE version which they sell on their site for 10 licenses for $495. I didn't call them for lower pricing specifics, but I guess it would be less expensive than, say, a p.i. However, that's quite a fee if you ask me. And anyone with just a little computer savvy who runs anti virus software will get some type of listing showing a new program that's been installed. So, you may get a week of uninterupted information depending on when the anti virus scanning is scheduled to run on that remote computer.
Bottom line, this one has a high price for a small return IMO. See if there is something else. Unless I'm missing something here?

WTL-
I don't recall your relationship with in-laws...or your spouse's relationship with them now either. Are they aware of the A? Do they support the A, or do they tend to support you?
It would be perfectly legal to install software on their computer if YOU HAD THEIR PERMISSION FIRST. If you have a good relationship with them, and feel that they might be willing to help you, you could consider approaching them with the idea of installing software on their computer that would allow you to detect if WS is contacting OP that way.
Just a thought. And I use a VERY cheap keylogger called XPCSpy. It doesn't have any annoying pop ups, it only cost me $10 bucks on the bargain CD shelf at the local computer store. It does have the capability to send email logs to whatever email address you wish it to, so that once you've installed it you wouldn't have to keep going back to check the log files.
Now...I also agree with what was said before...people RARELY use a random password...and I didn't install a keylogger on our computers at home until AFTER I'd hacked my wife's email and IM accounts. It took me about 10 minutes of trying to get into them...but I knew the screename, and just had to guess passwords.
Just some things to think about friend.
