Folks, for those who have been following my ground breaking research on rik factors for infidelity, I have just been notified that Pool halls (Billiards) is now a statistically significant risk factor (P <.05) for infidelity. When the updated guidelines get published on December 1st, this additional information will be a part of the guidelines.

Just thought I would let you know.

As a reminder, as of today, the following guidelines have been proved to all be statistically significant at the p<.05 level.

1. Ford trucks (F-150 type)** VERY strong risk factor**
2. Military enrollment)** VERY strong risk factor**
3. Smoking and chewing tobacco (only cigarettes, Pipes not significantly linked)
4. Hunting (all types of game, inluding fishing))** VERY strong risk factor**
5. Bowling
6. Pool halls (billiards)
7. Tatoos (trend, but not statistically significant)
8. Blue collar work (strong trend, but not statistically significant)

Sorry to blow your theory out of the water, Sour One, but this is the only risk factor that applies to my (hopefully) STBXWH.

He does have a Toyota truck. Does that count? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I am not a medical professional, but I would like to suggest the following additional risk factor for consideration: Controlling, affection-withholding mother.

Pebbles, as a reminder, these are only guidleines and are by no means absolute.

Yes, the Toyota truck your WH owns is a risk factor (strongest risk factor of all) and coupled with the strength of that risk factor and the "trend" of blue collar work as a risk factor, your Wayward indeed has a great risk to be a wayward.

Remember, it is about level of risk and not absolute criteria. People without coronary artery disease risk factors (smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension) still die of heart attacks.

People, please understand what the intent of this post is truly for. Please ask if you need clarification.

Hmmm...interesting

Well lets see

1. Ford trucks (F-150 type)** VERY strong risk factor**

Me - no trucks...H - no trucks....

2. Military enrollment)** VERY strong risk factor**

Me - nope - but OM was....H - special forces 10 years ago?

3. Smoking and chewing tobacco (only cigarettes, Pipes not significantly linked)

Me - nope - but in recovery picked it up again. H - yep although picked up again after MY A.

4. Hunting (all types of game, inluding fishing))** VERY strong risk factor**

Me & H - we play a sport that is similar to paintball - but no real hunting...

5. Bowling

Bowling eh? LOL - Haven't done it in years - neither has husband...

6. Pool halls (billiards)

See #5.

7. Tatoos (trend, but not statistically significant)

I got one on the small of my back from 15 years ago...H has a special forces tattoo on his arm...

8. Blue collar work (strong trend, but not statistically significant)

H and I - neither are blue collar work - OM was blue collar worker tho.

This was kinda funny to read - sometimes I don't know if you are being serious or you share my sarcastic humor...lol there is a fine line with you....

Dorry:

You and your WH are an "anomaly" an "outlier"...my research staff will conveniently hide your data in the results section so as to not ruin the publishibility of my guidelines.

Consider yourself warned.

Shouldn't internet usage be listed somewhere on that list? Or is that just a given?

None of those fit my FWH, however several fit the OW.

Well, that is a nice point....we are running that data, but many of the subsets in our data points don't use the computer nearly as much as we all think. The Wayward community is catching on quick, but still a number of Wayward posters still don't know what the "E" stands for in e-mail....

We will be looking into this though.

Remember, the ris factors are for ALL Waywards (OP and WS alike). What is your WS is another persons Other person.

LM, you keep doing this and I try to find it funny but seriously I just don't.

I don't know why you keep picking on people in a lower socio-economic group than you. Gee, it must be cos you're such a snob.

I've said it again and again. I live in a different country, infidelity is rife here, none of those risk factors apply because they just don't happen here.

I've also said white collar infidelity is HUGE - worldwide. Stop judging the whole world by your limited knowledge of it. There is a world beyond the borders of the US you know.

Sorry to be such a sourpuss - that's usually your territory.

Dear Pebbles,
You must have a mother-in-law like I have, although now she is not much of a threat due to her severe demensia.

Mmmmmmm, WH...........

Ford truck? No. I thought his midlife crisis car was his Camry.

Military? Nope, what about a short stint with ROTC in college.

Smoking? No unless dope a few years ago fall in this catagory.

Hunting? Nope unless you count hunting for porn

Bowling? Pool? No but maybe foosball is in that catagory.

Tattoos? Nary a one. At least, that I know of pre D-day.

Blue Collar work? Not even close.

Actually, I don't think that there is any demographic profile for cheaters. Unfortunately, they are across the board.

I give additional risk factors for:

1) People who spend a lot of time on the Internet unsupervised.

2) Folks who work for companies, high tech or not, that do not value family. This means, work parties w/o spouses, long trips w/o family, long hours away from home, lots of pressure and stress and the ever-present fear of being laid off.

3) People who feel detached from their families and do not participate in family activities.

4) What about alcohol use?

5) Those with a strong sense of entitlement. Heck, they deserve everything they want. Don't they?

Then again, from my perspective, maybe the primary risk factors are being male, well-educated, in a good job and well, a male of certain age. Hey, that might be you Lemonman and we know that that ain't so........

Uh Oh! he used to drive an F100, smoke dope, is a killer at pool, and spends lots of time fishing. He also has the 'mother', and is a blue collar worker. Oh yeah, in this country there is an extra one that goes on top of the list - mine worker - that keeps them away from their own family, and living in with a surrogate one (made up of other people's husbands and wives). Guess I should have seen it coming!
