We are looking into buying our first home. H is currently in Iraq and due home in about 8wks. He called me today to see if i could make an appt. to go and look at it. He told me the most important thing is to make sure that this is something that I want. If i dont like the house we arent getting it. Just from the outside i think i will but i just dont know. We have been talking about buying a home even before his ONS.

H and I are doing very well in our recovery and even though we arent very far into recovery we are doing well. No setbacks and NC has been confirmed. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> H has been doing nothing but prove himself more and more everyday. Even just the little things he says to me and does. We are planning on getting a VA loan when he gets home end of dec. beginning of Jan and then we will also go and look at this house together too. He said its up to me. We'll see. Just thought i'd share.

Very exciting!! My H and I plan to buy a house soon as well. Something we have been talking about and wanting for sometime. Becareful and take your time don't rush into anything. Check everything you can look for cracks in the foundation and in the ceiling or walls. Look at pipes under sinks. I don't know if this kind of thing freaks you out but, it does me. They don't have to disclose if someone has died or been killed in the house unless, you ask and say that it would be stressful for you to live under those circumstances. Just a little FYI. Also get started on the VA Loan paperwork ASAP you can prequalify for it. It can take months in some cases to get it all done. Also, if this is your first home purchase check into first time buyer programs I have found that there are better options going that way then the VA loan sometimes. Good Luck!

Being a realtor -can I help in anyway? There are many programs out there that can help you with mortgages. Also VA inspectors are very tough -which is good since any problems with a house will be found out right away. This is a major purchase and alot of thought needs to be put into this. Schools, neighborhood, crime rate, churches, groceriy stores ect. Good luck the first time home owner is a joy to work with. Find a excellent realtor to work with one who will put your best interest at heart -and not their pocket book.
