Hello! I'm back to help someone I've referred here. Then I started posting classic posts on Recovery. . . guess which was one of my first reposts? I still say it is one of the great classic posts How the wayward get wayward, and why they sound so dumb... How's it going? I hope all is well with you. I went back to school and am working toward a Master's degree. way2

Way2 - good to hear from you. Oddly enough, I'd been thinking about you recently and wondering how things were going with you. Glad to hear about your degree - what's your subject?
I'm back at school too - doing a basic marketing qualification so that I can get onto an e-marketing course next year. Funny to be studying again after all these years, especially as the kids on my course are less than half my age! I was made redundant in March, and have been doing some low-pay work from home; my PTSD symptoms still make me nervous about taking on anything that would stress me beyond my limits.
H and I are still hanging in there, although I've had some moments over the last years when I've reached a low ebb. It has seemed to be very difficult to get H to work on any of our long-term issues; he would rather cling to a dream that everything is peachy, and if I raise any issue, no matter how gently, he panics and thinks everything is falling to pieces. I've detached from most of his reactivity, and I can see that 45 years of going down a wrong path cannot be corrected in a week, or even a decade in all probability.
As ever, a long response from me (will I ever learn to post concisely?). Another of my old threads got pulled up recently, and it's great to 'see' the posters from those days. Those philosophical discussions are thinner on the ground these days, from posters like yourself and JP and Chorus and Stillwed. I miss them!
Nice to 'talk' with you.

Well she started reading MS yesterday. Hopefully she'll register today and begin to post. I'll let you know as soon as she does.
Thanks Nikko!

Glad to hear about your degree - what's your subject? Education, though I am doing more than needed in psychology (go figure ) I'm back at school too - doing a basic marketing qualification so that I can get onto an e-marketing course next year. Funny to be studying again after all these years, especially as the kids on my course are less than half my age! I was made redundant in March, and have been doing some low-pay work from home; my PTSD symptoms still make me nervous about taking on anything that would stress me beyond my limits. I can understand that. Yes it is rather strange to be in a class with "youngsters." I remember when I began college some 20+ years ago, I found it kind of comical when a 35+ year old would enter the classroom on the first day of class. Their eyes would immediately dart around the room looking for someone around their age to sit with. Now I am one of those people and fully understand that tendency! Well kids are home today (Veteran's Day) and we've got guests coming over tomorrow. Which means I have more than "normal" cleaning to do. I can't believe how fast they can trash a room. Plus I "think" I can get in a few hours to write some over due papers for psych class. talk more later way2
