and this is after they told me to "always consider them as my parents, no matter what happens."

Sadmommy - my MIL told me that too. But I've known that she's the type of woman who will just say things but not truly mean it in her heart.
It's also one of those things people say when they don't know what else to say.
So I've ignored it. It wasn't meant seriously - in my case.
Anyway, she's not exactly my favourite person although I've always accorded her the due respect, and I am not sorry if we don't keep in contact anymore.

Lately, my Christmas-es haven always been quiet. In past yrs, we use to celebrate Christmas eve with 2 other pairs of close friends. Esp when we were all still married w/ no kids. Now, one has a kid with a serious health problem that requires him living on a ventilator. And the other couple - my very good and oldest friends have emigrated to NZ.

I'm not much of a party/ crowds person myself.. so I guess another quiet Christmas is in order. I'm fine with that. I just hope to find more peace...

Go live it up, Alphin!! You have your lovely D's who give you much comfort and joy.

I'm the same. I just loved it when it was just the four of us... locking the door on Christmas Eve, and not opening it again until December 27th!

I'm going to have to get myself into the party spirit for my trip to MIL - BIL and his wife want to take me out partying, and MIL is going to babysit. And an old friend is planning to come up to MIL's city and visit, too. I don't know if I have the stamina to party any more! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

at least you'll have plans. Which is good for you, alphin.

My bday is 2 days after Christmas. I may make some plans to do something for myself that day. Either out with my friends or having a nice dinner w/ parents and sister.
