How many sexual (intercourse) partners have you had to date (does not include multiple times with same person)

How come none of the guys are answering?? Hey GreenEyes. What if your partner was schizo? Would that count as multiples? Also, depending on the time of the month, I've been with W and I've been with her evil twin sister!

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face. Challenges can be stepping stones or stumbling blocks. It’s just a matter of how you look at them. The purpose of life is to live it, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience

But seriously, folks. My W has been my one-and-only.
I used to think that was noble. Now it just seems naive.

My xH was my one and only. After my divorce I've had a few more. More than I thought I would. Things happen. You date someone for a while, then you break up. I didn't sow any wild oats before I got married... and I'm not going "wild" now, but I've also learned a few hard "dating" lessons after my divorce.

The majority of the women have had 6-20 partners, while the majority of the men have had 5 or less.
Based upon the results of this poll it looks like when dating the women are having more fun than the guys.
Sounds like the old stereotype needs revision.

I'd dying to know who the 51+ person is!
I have to say, I'm proud to be in the 1-5 club. That 1-5 encompasses my 2, which I married....I don't think it's naive, either....

I'm wondering - what is the purpose of this "vote"? Did you intend for there to be dialogue about it in this (or a future) thread?

I'm not sure I understand the point, either. Remember, even though this forum is not about an existing marriage, this IS Marriage Builders. Which of the MB principles would you tie into this particular poll?

I suppose it could be valuable in evaluating one's (our own) behavior, in comparison to others? and the general trends of the members here (assuming the voters are usual members, of course). We have lots of discussions on here about our various beliefs and behaviors, but putting it in a poll format allows us to see the numbers. I'm sure allurin has her reasons, when she comes back around... but I'm just taking a stab....

Why is intercourse the standard?
My 2 cents- I wouldn't feel very significant with a partner who crunched the numbers!
alluring, I used to care when I was first dating but to be honest it doesn't matter after a while-

We have lots of discussions on here about our various beliefs and behaviors, but putting it in a poll format allows us to see the numbers. This is exactly right on Faith1. Without asking people to come out and put a number (high or low) with their name it was a way of anonymously having their say. It was more of a curiosity thing than anything else and quite honestly I don't see why anyone would question the reason for it. If people were uncomfortable with the question then don't participate. Simple as that. I think it's quite interesting with the results so far. I agree with Justin... I would have thought the male numbers would have been higher than the female numbers. And I don't want to know who voted for what. That wasn't the purpose of this. The purpose was to see how the men faired against the women and vice versa. The fact that one or more people owned up to their votes had nothing to do with the actual reason for the poll. Hope my answer clears this up. And thank you everyone who has voted so far. It really is quite interesting. It's not something you would ever walk up to someone and say... "I'm taking a poll, How many people have you slept with?"

Given the numbers for the ladies and the men, I have to conclude that a minority of men are getting more than their fair share. No doubt these are either the Bad Boys, or the the guys who are their own Man. I wonder which?
