Barbra Walters just named Camilla the most fascinating person in the world. Why you ask? OK, either you're going to laugh you a** off or puke, but this was the reason. Because of her undying love, patience, and loyalty in waiting for her man, Prince Charles.
Why in the world did I even watch that dumb show? I don't even like most celebreties these days. But the OW to beat all OWs is admired for her loyalty and that should be rewarded for it. Those were Bab's words, I swear. Well I think I am going to vomit now. CV

Camilla? I wasn't very impressed with some of the ones she had announced were in the top 10, but Camilla? for that reason?
That's awful.

I, too, was disgusted with the choice and the reason. And why, may I ask, does Barbara Walters get to decide who's the most fascinating person? I'm sure the rest of us could do a better job of choosing someone more deserving of the "honor."

It's just more proof that love is blind, or really far sighted. YUCK!! I think Jay Leno said it best when he explained that Elton John thought that Britain was more receptive to him marrying his male companion since the marriage of the Prince and Camilla. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Main Entry: fas·ci·nate Pronunciation: 'fa-s&n-"At Function: verb Inflected Form(s): fas·ci·nat·ed; fas·ci·nat·ing /'fas-"nA-ti[ng], 'fa-s&n-"A-/ Etymology: Latin fascinatus, past participle of fascinare, from fascinum evil spell transitive senses 1 obsolete : BEWITCH 2 a : to transfix and hold spellbound by an irresistible power <believed that the serpent could fascinate its prey> b : to command the interest of : ALLURE <was fascinated by carnivals> intransitive senses : to be irresistibly attractive <the novel's flamboyant cover fascinates>
Fascinating people command attention.
The only person on Barb's list that could be considered 'fascinating' in any sense of the word would be Conaleezza Rice.
Love him or hate him, ole George W should be on the list.
How about Osama Bin Laden? The most sought after person in the world perhaps? It was once thought that there was no place on the face of the earth that a person could hide. Coward, genious, terrorist, thug. Whatever...he certainly commands the worlds attention.
Probably the most fascinating person of the year is now deceased. Pope John Paul II.

Because of her undying love, patience, and loyalty in waiting for her man, Prince Charles. well since their marriage began as an affair ... I was wondering.... Do you consider marriages that start off as an affair as respectable as marriages not born of adultery? Would you respect Camilla's advice on how to handle your own marriage problems ?

Would you respect Camilla's advice on how to handle your own marriage problems ? Depends upon whether they have come to terms with the chaos they caused and have sought counseling to deal with the issues in their lives. If not, then they are probably still looking through the same eyes of dysfunction.

""The Prince of Wales and Mrs Parker Bowles will be taking part in prayers of penitence at the service of prayer and dedication following their civil marriage," he said in a statement. "Preparation for the formal expression of such prayers includes the making good of any hurts, the restoration of relationships and serious attention being paid to the relationships fractured or damaged by misconduct." The bishop declined to specify what form of contrition Charles's apology to Andrew Parker Bowles should take. But it would have to be offered in advance of the church service in St George's Chapel, Windsor, on April 8. " http://www.royalarchive.com/index.p...ask=view&id=351&Itemid=2

I too was disgusted by Baba Wawa's choice. While watching the show I was speculating about the most fascinating person. I imagined it would be someone instrumental in helping those devastated by Katrina or even Oprah with her fight against child molestors. Stupid me thought a fascinating person is one who gives themselves for the good of others.
I thought even of writing Baba but felt it would fall on deaf ears. Why celebrate the life of someone who destroys others lives-even her own children.
i too was disturbed by Tom Cruise and his recent revelation of his nuttiness. His pregnant girlfriend is to remain silent during pregnancy? Medications for mental illness are unnecessary? Would he say the same for disbetes or cancer? The man has been totally brainwashed by that scientology cult.
The Bible does say that in end times what is right will be considered wrong and what is wrong will be considered right. Looks as if we're in those days...

What about the marriage of Mary Kay Letourneau to the young man who was once her junior high student? Remember this? She went to prison for having sex with him when he was 12 or 13 years old.... she was married with children at the time. She got pregnant with this young man twice. This pair of adulterors were married after she got out of prison ...
Do we honor this marriage as well, if they have "come to term" with the harm they have done?
And this leads me to the issue of Woody Allen and his marriage to his step-daughter (adopted daughter of Mia Farrow) ... is their marriage cool with all of us?
Just curious .... when is any "marriage" enough of a a horror show and ought not be honored by MB standards....
anyone have working criteria they want to share???
and our very own AM Martin ... her WH got "married" in a public vows-taking, unfortunately while still legally married to AM Martin .... is theirs a legitimate union just coz they say "we are married" and people came and there was drinking and toasting the happy couple?
If anyone simply says "we are married" ... are they?

I no longer watch movies by him nor can I stand anything by Julia Roberts. I think for me it depends on whether there is truly repentence and an attempt to repair the harm done. Ms Letournea should have done the right thing and never gone near this young man again, given the child up for adoption and done everything possible to make amends to her children of her marriage, her ex h and society in general. In the end though, God will be the judge.

I can only be responsible for my own personal opinions, but none of these people have earned my respect. I do reserve admiration, respect, honor and reverance for those I measure as worthy of mine.
