Asked my beloved to write some possible vows......and this is what he wrote for himself.......
Pastor: Will you answer me right now These questions, as your wedding vow? Groom: Yes, I will answer right now Your questions as my wedding vow. Pastor: Will you take her as your wife? Will you love her all your life? Groom: Yes, I take her as my wife, Yes, I'll love her all my life. Pastor: Will you have, and also hold Just as you have at this time told? Groom: Yes, I will have, and I will hold, Just as I have at this time told, Yes, I will love her all my life As I now take her as my wife.
Pastor: Will you love through good and bad? Whether you're happy or sad? Groom: Yes, I'll love through good and bad, Whether we're happy or sad, Yes, I will have and I will hold Just as I have already told, Yes, I will love her all my life, Yes, I will take her as my wife!
Pastor: Will you love her if you're rich? Or if you're poor, and in a ditch? Groom: Yes, I'll love her if we're rich, And I will love her in a ditch, I'll love her through good times and bad, Whether we are happy or sad, Yes, I will have, and I will hold (I could have sworn this has been told!) I promise to love all my life This woman, as my lawful wife!
Pastor: Will you love her when you're fit, And also when you're feeling sick? Groom: Yes, I'll love her when we're fit, And when we're hurt, and when we're sick, And I will love her when we're rich And I will love her in a ditch And I will love through good and bad, And I will love when glad or sad, And I will have, and I will hold Ten years from now a thousandfold, Yes, I will love for my whole life This lovely woman as my wife!
Pastor: Will you love with all your heart? Will you love till death you part? Groom: Yes, I'll love with all my heart From now until death do us part, And I will love her when we're rich, And when we're broke and in a ditch, And when we're fit, and when we're sick, (Oh, CAN'T we get this finished quick?) And I will love through good and bad, And I will love when glad or sad, And I will have, and I will hold, And if I might now be so bold, I'll love her my entire life, Yes, I WILL take her as my wife!
Pastor: Then if you'll take her as your wife, And if you'll love her all your life, And if you'll have, and if you'll hold, From now until the stars grow cold, And if you'll love through good and bad, And whether you're happy or sad, And love in sickness, and in health, And when you're poor, and when in wealth, And if you'll love with all your heart, From now until death do you part, Yes, if you'll love her through and through, Please answer with these words:
Pastor and Groom: I DO! Pastor: You're married now! So kiss the bride, But please, do keep it dignified.
I'm not so sure about this, what do you think......?

I'm picturing the groom wearing the red and white stripped hat. What will you be wearing Cinderella? Will you be a fox in sox?

There are questions I have if you wish to marry. Will you love her even if she is hairy? Will you hold her even though her weight may vary? How about those mornings when you awake and her face is wrinkled and scary?
Now ponder long and hard before you answer these few For by doing so you are saying she's the only one for you If that be and it's met with glee then simply say 'I do' Now run along kids, off on your honeymoon to ?????....

As long as I dropped by, I had to tell you hi, Your house is pretty, Dear, I'm glad I don't live here. For those who didn't know, I'm from GQ-2, so...... Although I've been through {you-know-what}, My H and I are well. Here's wishing all the best, To Cindy and the rest!

The only thing is.......what would vows for a bride be?
Will you love him when he's fat? Will you love him if it's flat?

C. What kind of balance are you looking for? Less rhyming? Something equal to it on your behalf? Vows that are more neutral in nature?
I know that if I heard these vows I'd probably wonder if they were for real,,,and try to reframe from laughing during the ceremony. As the bride, I'd probably have problems not laughing or feeling embarassed. But,if I knew the groom, and knew that it fit with his sense of humor, I might find it "cute" or "romantic".
When my ex and i were getting married, our pastor gave us a book that had various types of wedding vows in it. They were from very traditional to very non-traditional. (Not quite as non-traditional as your guy's!)It was helpful for us to go through the book, share what we liked, and reach an agreement, together, on what would be most meaningful for BOTH of us. I guess that this would be a POJA. On the other hand, if this is your man...and it has meaning for him......?????

As your bride I'll love you dear, and will always get your beer, And when you won't get off the couch, I won't think you're just a slouch.
But if you do me wrong, I'll sing another song, If another woman winks, look away, me thinks!

OK!
Time for confession.....
I'm [color:"red"]NOT [/color]planning a wedding.
I just found these on the internet and thought they were hysterical.
So, stop getting so excited...I'm not ready to do anything stupid. Yet.

That's hilarious.
I'd like to add.
Based on the cat and hat thing..I'd like to introduce thing 1 and thing2.
Thing 1 is my xh...or your xw.
And Thing 2 is their affair partner.
For if I'd ever marry...and if my xh is still married to FV, his dysfunction junction partner, they'd be stomping into my wedding to pretend to be happy and to wish me well even if I did NOT send them an invite.
Anybody ready to write some dialogue for their Thing 1 aand Thing 2?

xh:38; OW:26;eloped w/OW 1 wk after D: 12/29/03. OC born 3/17/04. Happy! Blessed to be the mother of a wonderful son..great profession..Life's good!

just for peachy...
Thing 1 and Thing 2 thought they understood bliss, so they chased after love, but something was amiss!
No conscience, no values, no morals they had, A family, a marriage: they destroyed - VERY BAD!
Thing 1 and Thing 2, they wanted to come clean, Could they clean up their mess - make things right, I mean?
It's too late. Too much dirt. Too much mess, I'm afraid The grass wasn't greener - in your own yard you should've stayed!
