For just one moment, I saw pure joy flash across my xws's face.

My birthday is always celebrated a week earlier, because it lands on Christmas.

Yesterday, my family celebrated my birthday.

When my husband and I returned from my dd's house, I asked my xws, "Do you know what I liked the most?" Continuing on, I said, "The card you gave me."

For just one brief second, I saw it. If I hadn't been looking at him at just that moment, I would have missed it.
His face first registered surprise, and then totally beamed with joy.

You see, I could tell my husband took great care when selecting my card.

It included how greatful and lucky he was to have me in his life, and told of his appreciation for all the loving things I do for him.

He chose this card to express the love in his heart.

I am truly, greatful, for I, like every b/s, have walked down the path of betrayal, heartbreak, and broken spirit, and because of these experiences, can fully appreciate love, knowing how fragile it is.

I knew all of my friends here, would understand how one little card, could mean more than the most expensive gift.

Sincerely,
K.D.'s Heartbreak

In the end, I have nothing to lose but everything to gain, by trying to save my marriage.

I am so glad to hear that things are going well for you. Good job having your "happy radar" on and being able to pick up on his joy.
