Came across these images when googlin' pictures of raindeer on the net for my daughter.

This time of year we really have to be careful of hitting deer on the highways but sometimes scanning both sides of the highway is just not being careful enough.

Hey Mel and any others passing by...I am just killing time checking in every bit or so to see if Dazed is going to give us an update. This is a big day in his marriage.


It's a little slow around here. I'm guessing November is not a big month for starting affairs. I bet a lot begin at office Christmas (or should I say "Holiday") parties. Unfortunately, that probably means we will get a January/February influx of newbies.

You guys discussed on that long ago thread shocking reconciliation stories and I really think Dazeds turnaround so far is remarkable. I did not see him getting this much control of his emotions and pulling off such a textbook Plan A. It is so hard to say for sure but what would you guess the percentage chance that his marriage will survive...98%/99%.

Anyway, see ya all around the water cooler.

That sounds like my husband's idea of a dream come true. Lol.

Nice to hear from you again, Mr. Wondering. I still remember your advice you shared with me, four months ago. Luckily, I haven't had to proceed to divorce, we are officially in recovery. Things just keep getting better and better.
By the way, xws bought me my first shotgun last week. He bought me shotgun shells for my birthday gift. Lol.

Same here... those are pretty horrible pictures and it's nothing to laugh about. And if you think I'm being like a PETA person, I'm not, I'm also thinking of the driver who could have gotten killed as well.

I was wondering... if you saw the news a few nights ago. I can't remember what News channel, CNN maybe, but deer are actually beginning to attack people. An 80 yr old man had been attacked by one in Helena MT. A deer had also jumped through a window of a home and attacked the person inside. And a hunter attacked by a deer.

I had no idea a deer could be so viscous like that until I saw it. They say it will be happening more often, but I forgot the reason why it is happening, something having to do with messing up thier habitat. The deer are angry.

MIL's dementia is severe now . We need to check out other facilities, this one is not meeting all the social needs of MIL. We also have problems with the facilities cheapness.

They are holding back on supplying fresh fruits and vegetables, and providing the diabetic snacks, as well as furnishing dishwashing powder.

The PCAs and CNAs buy these needed things, and are not being reimbursed for these purchases by management.

We had to set up an appointment with the head of the place to discuss the fact that three weeks after heaters were turned on, it was discovered my MIL's room only had AC. Apparently, this unit was put in by a now gone, maintanence person, last summer.

None of the workers discovered this until two weeks later.

Then we were not notified of this.

I found out about this when I visited one evening, and her unit was making an awful racket.

I told attendants, her unit was making an awful racket, and that is when I found out that it had been replaced with another person's unit, and that the unit in there before was only A.C.

We went into action, asked that the unit be disconnected, and another installed. The racket was louder than anyone should have to listen too. It would have given my MIL a heart attack, every time it cycled on and off.

The whole place had covered up the fact that my mil had been without heat for two weeks.

You know how given the chance, people will tell on themselves. Well, one of the workers told me that they had known for over a week that my MIL didn't have heating, and she had reported it to the supervisor, who did not call us, did nothing to make my MIL more comfortable, like adding her flannel sheets, down comforters, that were all in her closet.

We had never noticed the coldness because they always had the blinds open in her room. It didn't get cold until evening.

When we brought this up to the management, they said they had already ordered a new unit, and that it would be taken care in three to four days.

My husband told them this was unacceptable.
He wanted heat in her room tonight.
They said it was ordered, and they couldn't get it any sooner.

My husband then told them he would pick the thing up himself.

They refused.

My husband then told them he was going to be drop in around 2:00 am and if her room was cold, he was going to take the appropriate actions.

That evening when we came, her unit was replaced with another resident's unit. Who then got the unit that heated, but would wake the dead, with the heart jolting noise of it cycling on and off.

Amazing.

They handled it by replacing some other poor person's working unit with noisy unit that should have been put in the junk pile years ago.

I didn't mean to go on and on.

My husband thinks its because this facility is one that is For Profit.

They are cutting back on necessities to make a buck.

My husband was on rotation in his job and has now been promoted permanently where he was at.

So we will be moving to be closer to his work and find a nice facility there.

I saw a similiar report but I do not think that the deer are actually getting angry (but you did make me laugh out loud). If they actually were going to get angry they would have been po'ed a long time before today.

We have been moving into "their" territory for years. So if they were going to form a "deer militia" they would have battled us before our numbers became to large. Maybe the battle for Plymouth Rock would have been a good starting point for their anger.

Joking aside, the aggressiveness of deers has been going on forever. You just have to know not to mess with them ESPECIALLY during mating season. The media hypes it now more than ever because more people carry video cameras to capture the footage. The images make for great T.V.. By the way, if you ever have one enter your home call animal control...Do not try to remove it yourself....that is well known advice here in Michigan. Deers are a lot stronger than they look and very nimble. They scare easy and will agressively pursue the safety of the woods if that means going through you they will and it won't feel good.

What an ordeal. My MIL is admission intake director for a non-profit nursing home. I assure you she would have taken care of this problem immediately.

Yes I'd say so, it was quite surprising to me. I had always thought of deer as graceful, a non agressive animal, and afraid of people. First time I had ever heard of attacks by them.
