Susan:

YOU WON'T LOSE IT. I own a few pens of this quality and expense and they are like jewelery. You don't lose your watch do you?

I am itching to buy another pen for my collection, but given the "expense" I have incurred this xmas season for the family trip...I passed...for now..

Buy one for me. You would feel much better about that than buying one for yourself!

I actually still have two old Cross pens from back when I graduated high school hundreds of years ago.

They are truly gorgeous pens - bought one for my husband two years ago when he became president of his state professional organization. When he took off his wedding ring 2 weeks ago he also put the pen away. Told me it had too many hurts associated with it. But he still says it's special to him. He wrote me a beautiful poem once - used the pen.....if I didn't think it would kill me I'd go look for it now.

Gosh, I feel sorry for the person who pulled Lemon's name..

stbx and xow had "matching" Mont Blanc (orange-color of college team where they went to games) pens. I now have his and it's MINE forever. He has no idea what happened to the thing. She left him a vm a few months after it ended asking where he got them. It seems she lost hers and finding the right color was difficult. Poor baby. Yeah right...

I have over the years, during the course of my years married to darth, purchased several mont blanc pens for him...seems he enjoys signing checks with them! and yes, he always said that his clients noticed what kind of pen he used.

No more mont blanc's for him from me though! ha ha. I seriously doubt that family values even understands what a mont blanc is? or why a pen could carry so much value?

LOL.....yeah, that is what my family also thinks about it. People don't like drawing my name for this partcicular reason. It is all good though. I can go buy this pen myself when it fancies me.

This year I got a great leather sachel for work that my siblings all went in on. It was monogrammed and all....with "Lemonman, MD" .

Best X-mas gift I ever got.

Kind of sad X-mas day is over now. I am off alot over the next 3 weeks. For a workaholic like me, it is gonna be "challenging" to find things to do. We'll see.

I guess it is a good problem to have and I should stop complaining.

LOL, Mel.

Back to pens. My H is left handed and taught himself to write calligraphy when he was a teenager. He was determined not to be a "messy left handed writer".

He loves pens and owns many, but they all have to have the nib changed on them to "left handed".

He wrote a beautifully hand-written letter to a (very good - but not Mont Blanc) pen company explaining his need for a good left handed nib to go with their pen that he'd just bought. Apparently, they framed his letter as a beautiful piece of penmanship (and sent the nib).

Sigh. My wonderful, talented H.

LOL, Jen, great story.

What kind of pens does your Hubby like? Ya know, I never thought about the "left handed" nib thingy? Guess, it would be a problem.

Has your hubby become a "pen snob". I admittedly have . I am not proud of it, but I am what I am.

I will not let a drug rep pen or like in my lab coat.

I use my pens on a rotation basis (Montblanc, Aurora, and Visconti) are my workhorses currently. I have to fill the pens from the bottle, and frown on "ink" cartrige replacements.

Pens are a funny thing. My family and friends (for the most part) can not understand why people are into pens like this. I get the feeling your hubby understands quite well....

Ya got to love it.

Yep, he fills them from the bottle. LOL. Yep, he's a pen snob. He'd love a Mont Blanc. I am not allowed to touch his pens but I can't use them anyway because the nib slopes the wrong way. One of them he "won't use" because it'll devalue it as soon as it has ink in it. Now, to me that's going a bit too far. LOL. I like the sort of pen that you get as giveaways from company reps.

Blush, I don't know what sort of pens he's got.

He's got a thing about watches as well. I bet you do too. LOL. Yes, he'd like a Rolex.
