I often wonder why my stbxh will from time to time put on a dog and pony show to prove to me how much he has grown and has become a honorable man. Stupid me will attend the show but what shows up is more like a fox and dead horse.
Anyway, today I heard this verse and it struck me like a ton of bricks...
Proverbs 27:7 "He who is full loathes honey but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet."
I identified with that verse. As if I were so starved for love and affection for so many years, that his cruelty to me was acceptable. Then as I have gone about my day and meditated on it, I realized it's about marriage too...
Those who are full of love aren't interested in going elsewhere but those who aren't will settle for love even if the consequences are bitter.
Now what's the difference between the one who accepts the bitter or the one who goes out and seeks the bitter elsewhere. They both are fooled because after all it's just bitter.
Something to ponder...
