I guess you wouldn't be reading here if you were. Unless of course you are on the other side of the world and it's over for you.

I'm following my tradition of 24 years - babysitting for friends and neighbors kids, while they go out. I really do enjoy it.

I've always thought New Year's Eve was highly overrated. Clubs are expensive and for me it was always kind of a let down. One of these days, I plan to spend New Year's in Las Vegas - that would be exciting.

Anyway, I have 7 little ones here - 8, 7, 5, 2 4 yr. olds, 3 and a 3 month old. We did exercise videos as it is raining here and too wet to walk on the beach. Had dinner, and will have some snacks later. We played some games, complete with prizes. Now the little ones are watching videos, and the older ones playing PlayStation.

Usually, I'm the one that has a hard time making it to midnight.

Lord help me, what is wrong with you, woman??? Don't you people have TEENAGERS out there to watch those ankle biters?

DH took me out for romantic dinner for prime rib. And now we are piddling around with his new "tool" from Home Depot, a STEAMER!! Don't ask me what it is for because I have not received a straight answer.

It is a mystery thing like that MONSTER compressor he "had to have" that sits out in the garage. He uses it to blow leaves off the back porch, however, we already HAVE a leave blower! So I don't know why we needed this HUGE air compressor. And now we have a STEAMER, purpose unknown!

Happy NYE. We are going to eat out, 2 D plus Lady Elina . We are going to stay and watch count down from Tv. Flood & rain are too much for us plus they are under drinking age in CA.

RH - Glad somebody is going out! Be careful in the rain.

Melody - Remember, I helped raise 8 - I miss them. Anyway these kids are always real good for me. I keep them busy! We are going to make New Year's Eve hats now. At midnight we have our confetti and "poppers". No, Melody, not pistols, those things you throw at the ground and they sound like caps.

Eagles have great song...get over it! Which always makes me perk up when I am having a day or night...like this one.

Just start smiling. Like my best friend tells me...fake it until you make it..

When you feel attractive inside and out...it is amazing..but the guys..including the WS's see it too! Even if you're in B..kinda radiates..

Peachy - Hope your patient is okay. Sorry you got called in.

Hurting - Slinging burgers is okay too. After all, we gotta eat on New Year's Eve. And look at it this way, this is the last trigger holiday of the year. We made it through Christmas! Now we don't have to worry till Martin Luther King Day, and that one is easier to get through!

I also babysat for 4 kids (2 mine) but I did nothing. They spent their evening in a neighbour's garden and I slept on the settee after no sleep the night before. Cough cough cough.

Not a great fan of NYE. Christmas is my happy time. I usually feel a bit nostalgic but last night I was glad of the peace and quiet. Definitely turning into a BOF. (boring old fart).

Morning I mean evening B!!

I've got Mikey, a 11 yr old, a 7 yr old, and one very sick puppy of a son in his bedroom groaning about drinking beer with irish chasers

All but the sick one went to church at 7... had a nice sermon on praying for the war to end this year and bring some peace & stability - but as its human beings we are talking about ???? we can hope though.

I think I'll just potter around the house today unless mum wants to go to the markets or somewhere.... whenever my sis returns for the 2 tearaways

right now they are playing with a basket ball outside DS room the little monsters ..lol

Sheesh SS, I hope it wasn't poison.

TT - The EA is on hold till by divorce. We decided to wait until this relationship is OVER - what a novel idea.

TT - But am I smitten with him? I'm much older than you, and REALLY starting to wonder if I even WANT a man anymore. Yeah, they're good for SF, but so much TROUBLE.

B, that's cool.

Our NYE was quiet as usual. Went to bed at 10 cos the only thing on TV that was even slightly worth watching was Dumb and Dumber. (yep, that was the best on offer).

Woke at 12 to the sound of the neighbours letting off fireworks which they did for oh, about an hour. Still it did mean we saw the New Year in. Woke again at 2 when DS arrived home. He doesn't drink but still managed to make quite a bit of noise.

So, all in all, not a bad NYE. Roll on 2006.
