should be public record....county courts. In my area, it's circuit court. You will need full names and maybe more infomation. Contact the courts in that area.

You can ask her husband, Alison. Of course, seperated still means married and makes no difference in your situation.

I know in the sate I live in now (SC), you do not need a legal agreement to separate. According to my lawyer, there is no such thing as an illegal separation.

Here, no paperwork needs to be done. We are in the process of doing paperwork though because it helps ahead of time if you can agree on how assests will be divided.

Best to check the laws of your state as they can vary quite a bit.

We are in MD so you don't HAVE to have papers, but my H told me that OW and OWH have papers.
