Maybe she didn't notice, the first time around!!! You just can't leave well enough alone, can you? Don't you remember the Alamo? (where my father's illustrious anscestor, Davy Crockett, made his final stand)

She's probably out buying a king-size can, as we speak. It's been nice knowing you AD.

It will be a rather quick trip:

Fly Atlanta - Houston morning of Wednesday (Jan. 25)

Drive Houston - Dallas afternoon of Wednesday (in time for dinner meeting @ 6:00 Love Field, Dallas).

Fly Dallas - Atlanta afternoon of Thursday (Jan. 26).

Not much sightseeing this trip !!

Wow, that is a quick trip! You do know you can fly from Houston Hobby into Dallas Love for cheap, cheap, cheap?

Well, I'm meeting up with 2 other guys in Houston and we're all going to Dallas together.

Is the airline Southwest you refer to?

Gotcha! Well, that makes sense if you are bringing other guys. Yes, Southwest is the airlines that flies out of Love Field. I use SW quite a bit to get around Texas and visit my family.

I'll check SW schedules.

Our decision drive was based more on the inflexibility of our schedules than the costs.

If we can leave Houston (IAH) right after lunch and get to Love Field before 6:00 PM, we would prefer to fly.

Have you driven from Geo. Bush (IAH) in Houston to Love in Dallas? How long do you think it would take on a weekday afternoon, arriving in Dallas around 5:00 P.M.? Is this a major traffic nightmare?

One of my "passengers" is the guy who is organizing the meeting in Dallas, so it is imperative we be there by 6:00 PM. (There will be about 50 attendees at the dinner).

Hi GEORGIA GUY!

You're a busy dude!

Hi MelodyLane,

You seem to be feeling better now. The shock of losing to BAMA has clearly been dissipated by the JOY of beating USC.

GG, I would guess it is about 4 hours but you will hit some traffic in Dallas around that time so you might be looking at 5 hours. Traffic in Houston is also the absolute worst in this state.

There are flights leaving from Houston to Dallas on the hour all day. The only drawback is that you can't fly out of IAH to Love. You have to make it over to Hobby Airport, which is about 20-30 miles from IAH.

Hi AD -

Well....actually, technically yes...but.

It is only because we recently bought another company that has corporate charter. I've not met those folks yet.

Melody - Okay, you win. We are all going to fly Southwest from Houston-Hobby to Dallas-Love, then back the next day to catch return flights home.

I'll be doing a lot more traveling in my new job than I've EVER done before. But that's not such a big issue anymore (obviously).

I've been asked to relocate, but I've respectfully declined.

(Sorry AD for the threadjack).

AD - I picked up the Saab yesterday. Mid-life crisis' are wonderful! I drove with the top down even though it was about 60 outside.
