They like silly movies.

Problem is, I can figure out how to arrange the Three Stooges with the velvet Elvis print along with the dogs playing poker picture!

Pepper,

I think I need to offer P47D so decorating advice. The three stooges, the velvet Elvis, and the dogs playing poker, look especially fetching with framed with carefully stacked and organized empty beer cans. My personal favorite is organize the cans by brand so that one sees the sweeping vistas of going from the red, white, and blue of a good Bud can merging into the green of say a heinken can.

Can't you see the allure of such a dramatic framing with the dogs and the velvet Elvis?? Oh, And the bean bag chairs need to be arranged properly as well.

To answer your question "What is it with men?" I'd say it is our intrinsic eye for beauty and form.

WOW - am I thankful that my WH always left the decorating to me!!! But I must confess that this motorcycle mama loves Harley stuff and I have accumulated quite a bit of Harley stuff for our basement rec room. Hummmm.... now that WH has moved out - I think I feel the urge to get that room under control and put some stuff up!

I am not kidding ~ Mr. Suz had that "dogs playing poker" *thing* (looks like a big ole RUG to me) hanging on his wall 30 years ago when we got engaged.

It had to go...and go it did!

Suz, when I met this latest H, he was living in a basement apartment, sleeping on a COUCH with only a blanket! He said he loved that couch and didn't see why he should sleep in the bed! lol

[color:"red"] one of my non-MB friends sent me this today[/color]

Men Are Just Happier People -- What do you expect from such simple creatures?

Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another petrol station toilet because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress £3000. DJ rental £80.
People never stare at your chest when you are talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks.
A 5 day holiday requires only one suitcase. You can open all of your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. you dont seem to mind if we get in a mood with you and dont talk to you all evening
Your underwear is £5.00 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original colour. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe even decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.
if you turn up at a party wearing the same thing as another man, neither of you will cry, neither will have to go home and change, and you'll probably end up being lifelong friends

You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes one colour for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a moustache.
you can sit though a whole film having reckognised the lead as being 'that one from the car advert' without having to tell someone about it. you can also eat a sandwich by putting it in your mouth and biting instead of breaking of a small chunk

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes. No wonder men are happier.

Susan,
I've been looking for one of those for DS's dorm room. Is it still lurking in the attic?

My stbx had those same pictures. He also had a lava lamp. Pictures on the wall that looked as if they were jigsaw puzzles that had yet to be stamped. And the worst of all...mind you I'm 51...he had a white belt and white shoes. Ewww..the signs were there, I just didn't notice.

I'm 50, hubby is 59.

How 'bout a polyester leisure suit with a silky polyester shirt? Did he have one of them?

Also some plaid pants.

I have the pictures to prove it all!

Wow. I read that with my face pressed up against the monitor! I must say that this is the first time I have ever wished I were a man.

I found the following portions most appealing:

*NOT having new shoes (or even the really cute OLD shoes) blister, cut or mangle my feet

*Opening all my own jars (thank God I have a teenage son AND a husband...I have plenty of jars to go around)

*I must say that EXTRA credit (different than simple credit) for acts of thoughtfulness sounds mighty appealing

*Underwear at the bargain price of 5.00 at any rate of currency (I don't even HAVE that funny L-shaped pound symbol on my keyboard) sounds pretty great, too.

*When you say "three pairs of shoes" you mean in each color, right? Who could get by on only three pairs of shoes, period???

*If they don't have strap problems, what on Earth do they do while they are walking to occupy themselves?

The rest just seems so unfathomable, I'm overwhelmed, although I do have one more question...

If they eat sandwiches by putting them in their mouths and biting, how do they avoid smearing lipstick all over their faces?

Could someone kindly offer up the flip-side to that point of view so I can be content again with my gender!

Pep, Susan, Frozen,

What was NOt one the list is the difference between sending a boy to college and a girl. With the boy, you not only need just 3 pair of underware (as son points out you can reverse them when they get dirty. ), but you only need one set of sheets per semester.

It took us 2 van loads to move daughter into college dorm. Son it took a van to carry the frig for the room, and the two sports bags filled with all of the "necessary" things.

Life is easy when you are a guy.
