eating a 1/2 box of chocolates is NOT a good method <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> when will i ever learn that?

H went out shortly after dinner (with my complete blessing)

i did the dishes.

i checked all the homework.

i played uno with the kids (including much laughter) while they were awake.

i completed 2 "difficult" sudoku puzzles.

i put away the laundry.

but while doing all of the above, i also kept eating junk that has only made me feel sick. times like this although i wish i knew how to make myself throw up, i am really grateful i never could figure out how to do just that. (and NO i'm not looking for anyone to teach me!!)

i guess all that is left to do is to take a shower and then get in bed, but then that is the problem.

I HATE GOING TO BED!!!

I can think of a few worse vices than chocolate.

Give yourself a break, will ya?

well ya got me there, you are right. BUT...

i'm really needing to lose weight, something my H would really appreciate too. so poor eating is not just poor eating, it symbolizes being weak, no what i mean?

FL, I kicked sugar and white flour years ago. It was the only thing that helped my near-constant headaches.

If the caffeine doesn't bother you, you can still have sugar-free chocolate. There's loads of it now in the grocery and discount stores, and it's good! Plus, once you no longer crave sugar you'll find that 2-3 pieces are plenty and you won't feel sick from overdoing it.

Good luck!

FL, do you like jello or pudding? I read recently that sugar free pudding with the fat free cool whip is very good at satisfying the sweet tooth. In fact when I go to the store today I am going to get some. SAme with sugar free jello if you like jello, LOL

Oh and besides comfort food..what else can you do to self soothe? Prayer? Meditation? A hot bath after the kids go to bed?

i appreciate the suggestions, and maybe i should be paying attention to them more than i initially was. just for ideas for the future.

but, the point is, i don't think i was craving sugar or chocolate.

i was wanting to do something in the area of self-destruction.

granted, as SC says, my choice was so much LESS destructive than i have choosen before, but i know me, and that is what i was doing, i was bringing myself down more, instead of nurturing myself.

actually i was doing both at the same time. the sudoku puzzle, the hot shower, the uno with the kids, those were good choices. but the eating, the general pacing, the not going to sleep sooner, those were bad choices.
