My wife had at least an emotional affair that may still be going on and she moved out two weeks ago wanting a divorce. She has made me look like a real bad person in to her friends and family. She even called my mother and told her I may be on drugs!! She has called me three to four times per week since then. I have not called her even once. She makes small talk but sounds down and doesn't have much to say. Whenever I mention divorce or other issues we need to take care of such as custody and child support, she never wants to talk about it. What is going on. I thought we both agreed on divorce. Maybe I am throwing her for a loop because not once have I mentioned working things out or "us " period. In other words, no pleading and begging and I appear to her to be fine with the D decision. Anyway, I am going to file for divorce very soon as I don't see a need to drag things out like some do for months and years.

Well, the first question I'd ask you is if you truly want the divorce?

Some people just don't get it, they don't get it that they don't get it.

I had the right to remain silent.......but I didn't have the ability.

Yes. I believe any form of infidelity is a character flaw that will usually resurface sooner or later. I have heard many stories of spouses being betrayed multiple times.

Well, if you truly feel that way, and are not interested in at least hearing other potentially marriage saving views here (not from me though ), than I'd hire the best attotney you can afford and then fight like ****** for custody of your child/dren.

goodluck,

LM

Maybe I feel that way now because I am frustrated. Is there a reasonable time limit to see if things work out before filing for divorce?
