My WH is being all waywardy and [censored]y. He has the children one night a week. OD asked him if she could call me last weekend and apparently, WH told OD 'No'. He also refuses to take my calls, so the children have no way of talking to him during the week if they would like to.

I need to get them a cheap phone so they can call me or him at their whim.

I have an old cell phone. Can I buy a card that will load that phone with minutes and just program Mom and Dad in the phone for them? Would the phone be able to receive incoming calls or just outgoing? I can't afford to buy them a new phone and I am not sure about the cost of adding a phone to my current plan.

They really only need a few minutes a week of air time. WH does not have a land line, only a cell phone, so they do have to ask for permission and he won't let them call me.

I will bring this up with the attorney, but I am looking for suggestions for this weekend.

TIA

You can buy a trak (sp?) at Walmart for around $25.00. Then you get a prepaid card.

Unless the old phone is a pre-paid, it is hard to change it.

I bought my Mother a cingular cell phone prepaid. It works with buying the $25.00 card it rolls over. You can look them up on line. Go to the site of your cell phone company and ck out what they offer. I did find cingular is the cheapest and has roll over minutes. It was frustrating to me working with part time people who did not know what thye were doing -so I suggest going to one of there stores instead of using the phone. One the phone they just want to sell and soemtimes you get what you did not want. My Mother has 200 minutes and I took the plan that cost $1.00 to activate the phone for one day and then she can use it if there is a emergency.
