My situation - I found out 2 weeks before Christmas that my husband of 13 years was having an affair, he moved out 2 days before Christmas and in with a local girlfriend. Subsequently, I found out that he has had several affairs. I filed for divorce earlier this month, as he refuses to reconcile and now, with what I know, I believe it is the right thing to do.

My daughter and I just joined a support group and had our first meeting last night. The program is called Divorce Care and it is through a local church so it is faith based. The children's program is called DC4K, Divorce Care for Kids, and there is an adult program at the same time. I dreaded going, but found it extremely helpful as did my daughter. For the first time I had this inner peace that I had not felt for weeks! There is a website, www.dc4k.com if you need info or to locate a program near you.

Best to all,

Payton

I went through Divorce Care too and I highly recommend it to anyone who is going through a separation or divorce. I found it to be very helpful. I went through the program 3 times. (for those who are not familiar with it, it's a 13 week program) Many people who have completed Divorce Care are asking for more support programs because Divorced Care have been so successful for them. Divorce Care head quarter is located in NC, I believe they will start a new program for people who have completed Divorce Care. A friend of mine who went through Divorce Care with me just finished a taping session for this new program. In the mean time, my church recently offer a new program called "Boundaries" which I'm enjoying as well.
