I thought Mel might post before she left for her hometown, but since she didn't, I'll post a little info.

Earlier, Mel posted her dad was ill.

He passed away on Friday very suddenly. She has gone across Texas to be with her family.

She said she was taking her laptop, so she'll probably be checking in.

I figured all of her online friends would want to be supporting her in prayer during this difficult time.

I hope you don't mind, Mel, but it wasn't going to take long before everyone started looking for you.

Mel... I have no words that can provide much comfort, but I hope you can feel the love and care from your friends here on the MB forums.

May the grace of God be in your heart during this time of grief.

Very best wishes,

Hi Folks, thanks much for your prayers and your kind words. I am going to miss that old fart, but am very glad he got to die at home like he wanted. He has put me through he11 these past few weeks with his antics [running off the nurses, smoking with his oxygen on, complaints from the nursing agency that he was smoking marijuana] but now it's God's turn to put up with his foolishness. Good luck, God, you will need it!

I was thinking of getting my dad back now that I have him completely at my mercy. He hated suits and he hated religious zealots, so I thought about burying him in a blue polyester suit and asking Jerry Falwell to officiate his funeral. **snort**

You know what? Several of his ex-wives are going to be there, this should be most interesting.
