Mortarman -

I wanted to thank you for your Husbands And Wives Roles thread. It was probably the best look at Ephesians 5 I have ever read. You covered the roles in a humorous, thoughtful and inspirational way. That thread should be required reading for every Christian on this forum, IMHO.

I particularly appreciated your military analogies. As a former member of the military (Navy), I understand the concept of heirarchy and chain of command. Despite four years of college and 7 years of service, and the privelege of serving with some truly great officers and NCOs, I apparently learned nothing about effective leadership (witness the current state of my marriage).

Thanks again for taking the time to write the posts on that thread. I compiled them all and printed them out for quick reference, and sent a copy to my wife (and will be sending one to my FIL). Marvelous job, and very helpful (to me at least).

BB,

Thanks. I compiled this from a series done by a pastor that I listen to often. I too had seemd to have forgotten my training as an NCO in my marriage, so this all spoke to me.

You are right...that stuff should be required reading and training for every Christian before they are married.

If we all had started off that way, we wouldnt be in this mess!
