Happiness, it can’t be forced upon another, it can’t be demanded of another, it can’t be expected of another and we surely can’t delude ourselves into thinking we can “make” someone happy through our actions.
We can only hope for, what brings us happiness may bring joy to another. If what brings us joy does not bring another joy, we have not failed. What we have done does not bring joy to another. It is that plain and simple!
We can only allow people to share in what brings us joy. If what we share brings joy to another, we have allowed them to share our joy and happines, we have not “made” them happy.
Have we done things for another with the hopes of bringing them joy? Of course we have. But we knew what would bring them joy, and in bringing them joy it allowed us to share in their joy.
You can only share in the joy and happiness of others, you can not “make” them joyous and happy.
Share in the joys of others and allow others to share in your joys!

Ha... You can't fool me... I heard from a reliable source that "Happiness is a warm gun."
That's certainly something you can share with another, though in her current state of mind, I have no intention of handing over a gun of any temperature to Crystal! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us —whatever we ask— we know that we have what we asked of him."

If it brings her joy but doesn't allow you to share in her joy, she hasn't failed. It brought her joy, you just didn't share in it, as I am sure nobody else would. Perhaps I should have said I am not talking about selfish, evil joy. And Crystal, that wasn't meant to be on you. It was a general comment. That kind of joy is reserved for only the most evil of us in this world.
